EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival features the best snacks in the world. With more plans for food booths at other EPCOT festivals in the immediate future, let us take a look at how to photograph these delicious treats.
This year, Flavors From Fire joined the festival for the first time. My daughter had read about their S’mores Whoopie Pie-lon. Before I let her bite in, I found a good background for a close up.
Notice I used Fill Flash to even out the shadows on a bright Florida day. While photos of food items are always nice, I like to include people, too.
This gives you an idea of the size of the snack. My daughter said the S’mores Whoopie Pie-lon was fantastic if not a bit messy.
Some of the food items were moved into World Showplace between Canada and the United Kingdom. There we found the Desserts & Champagne Booth featuring a very unique snack.
Liquid Nitro Chocolate Cake Pops are created by dipping a cake covered in melted Twix into a vat of liquid nitrogen by a Food Technician. To make sure I got the liquid nitrogen in the air, I dragged my shutter at 1/40th of a second and bounced flash off the ceiling to put light on the technician causing the background to go black.
The result was deemed delicious by my taste testing daughter.
