PHOTOS: We Just Got a Big SIGN Confirming Disney’s Grand Floridian Walkway to Magic Kingdom!

Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa surround the Seven Seas Lagoon outside of Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. The resort monorail transports guests to the Magic Kingdom and there are a few walkways that connect the resorts to each other.

Grand Floridian Resort Walkway Construction

Disney’s Polynesian Resort has a walkway that connects to Disney’s Grand Floridian and the Ticket and Transportation Center.  While the Contemporary Resort has a walkway that connects guests directly to the front entrance of the Magic Kingdom. Coming very soon, the Grand Floridian will also have a connecting pathway between the resort and the Magic Kingdom. We just got a huge sign that Disney is making huge progress on the walkway!

We hopped on the monorail to catch up on the walkway’s construction progress and…behold! A new sign directing guests to the path has been installed!

Our view from the monorail confirmed that construction is moving steadily along. Earlier, we spotted a covered tent that will serve as a security and temperature checkpoint. The walkway will be complete with a bridge that passes over the Seven Seas Lagoon too!

The hotels located along the monorail are hugely popular due to their convenient location. This new pathway will be an even bigger draw to the Grand Floridian! Now, resort guests can bypass the long monorail lines when the Magic Kingdom gets too busy.

  1. I’d think they would do more of this. Pop Century / Art of Animation is less than a mile from Hollywood Studios, with a direct path and a simple pedestrian bridge over the 1 road I’d walk it. You’d still have to traverse the parking lot, but they already have trams ( or will once CV-19 is over )so a stop at the back of the lot would be easy enough. I actually tried to see how on Google Earth 2 years ago, but between no sidewalk on the road and cutting through the woods at the back of the lot it seemed too much of a hassle
