While distancing and sanitation protocols have increased, the capacity has decreased and been limited at the moment. Disney World has reported that they will be lowering their capacity even further in September and November as their attendance levels haven’t been what they expected them to be.

However, Universal Orlando has seem more attendance in their parks since they opened to guests again back in June. Currently, Universal’s attendance has been at 64% less than 2019 as Disney World has been operating with 80% less crowds than the previous year according to the Orlando Sentinel.

A Deutsche Bank analyst note has stated that Animal Kingdom and EPCOT are outperforming the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios at the moment. While Disney took a $2 billion hit during the closures, many guests chose to cancel their previous reservations as cases were higher during the summer.

But, Disney may start to see some improvements with the number of cases starting to have a downward trend in Florida. Since Universal’s attendance has continued to go up, this could be a sign that Disney World might experience the same upward climb.
