Five Ways to Enhance the Romance (and the Fun!) on Your Walt Disney World Honeymoon

It may come as no surprise that Walt Disney World is a popular honeymoon destination for newlyweds. While any vacation to Disney World is sure to be magical and memorable, there are many ways to upgrade your honeymoon to a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Here are five ways you can upgrade your Disney World honeymoon!

Upgrade your room to Club Level

If your budget allows, upgrading your hotel room to Club Level (or booking Club Level right away when you make your Disney World Resort hotel reservations) is a great option four your honeymoon!

Most Deluxe hotels offer Club Level accommodations: Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club, BoardWalk, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Polynesian Village, Wilderness Lodge, and Yacht Club. Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs is the only Moderate resort that currently offers Club Level.

What does staying at Club Level get you? For starters, the floor that Club Level is on is accessible by your Magic Band or room key only. Club Level also has lounges where coffee, breakfast, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and alcoholic beverages are served daily at no extra charge. You also get nightly turn-down service when staying at Club Level.

You also have access to Disney’s Signature Services, which is a team of Cast Members dedicated to guests staying in Club Level accommodations to assist with booking any and all reservations, from dining to spas to tours. They are accessible by phone or email prior to your trip, and once you arrive, there are dedicated Concierge Cast Members on the Club Level floor just for you!

Book a behind-the-scenes tour

Another way to make your honeymoon a one-of-a-kind experience is to book a behind-the-scenes tour. Tours at Disney World offer guests a rare look behind the scenes and provide insight to how the magic at Disney World comes to life every day.

Two of our favorite tours are Keys to the Kingdom at Magic Kingdom and Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom. These tours offer guests experiences that they would not be able to have otherwise! If you want your honeymoon to be truly special, this is an easy way to make new Disney memories that will last a lifetime.

Note that these walking tours can take upwards of five hours long, so pack your best walking shoes!

Take some time off from the parks & RELAX!

Offer you and your new husband or wife the ultimate indulgence by booking a trip to the spa! Disney has several spas around their property, and you do not have to be a guest at that resort to book an appointment!

Spas include the Senses Spa located at Grand Floridian and Saratoga Springs, Ship Shape at Yacht Club, Mandara Spa at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort, La Vida Health Center at Coronado Springs, and Zahanati at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

In addition to couples massages, you can also book hair appointments, facials, manicures, and pedicures.

Looking for some relaxation at no extra charge? Every Disney World Resort hotel has at least one pool that you can lounge beside, and a tasty drink isn’t usually too far away!

Eat some REALLY good food

Disney World is full of incredible restaurants, and every trip is bound to have some memorable dining experiences. But there are a few Signature restaurants that could really take your honeymoon to the next level! We totally recommend booking at least one Advance Dining Reservation at a restaurant you wouldn’t eat at otherwise!

Victoria & Albert’s suits the Grand Floridian

The most luxurious restaurant at Disney World is definitely Victoria & Alberts. Rated as one of the top restaurants in the country, these reservations are hard to come by so be ready to book 180 days out! Dinner at Victoria & Alberts comes with a hefty price tag, too, but if you want to enjoy the grandeur of the Grand Floridian, look into Citricos and Narcoossee’s, which both offer a quieter, still-signature dining experience.

Another great romantic option is California Grill at the Contemporary Resort. Request a castle view table if you can, and you’ll get spectacular views of Magic Kingdom while you dine. All guests of California Grill are welcomed to return the night of their reservation for special fireworks viewing from their outdoor patio if they can’t get an ADR during show time!

A hidden dining gem is Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge. These reservations are much easier to come by, but the food is just as exquisite and the overall atmosphere is totally appropriate for honeymooners!

No matter where you dine, be sure to note in your reservation that you’re celebrating your wedding. You may get a little more pixie dust!

Free upgrade – wear your Happily Ever After buttons!

Our fifth and final recommendation is completely free! Disney World has several special occasion buttons for guests to wear – whether it’s your birthday, honeymoon, or any special event, these buttons are available at no extra charge, and you may get some special attention from Cast Members when wearing them!

The special recognition could range from a simple but meaningful “Congratulations!” as you walk by, or you could end up striking a conversation with a Cast Member about your honeymoon. Who knows – you could get something really sweet from it!
