Exploring new worlds from behind the lens is intriguing, captivating, and exotic. While many of us haven’t traveled the globe far and wide, we have and can get a glimpse of some foreign lands at Epcot. When walking around these detailed pavilions we see so much that it sometimes escapes us. I love going back over and over again and trying to find fresh alternative perspectives.
One thing I tried last year was to attempt something new in as many World Showcase pavilions as possible. In Morocco I found myself catching notice of intricate mirrors as well as what was in them.
In the Fez House, glass and metal lanterns hang overhead. With some tippy toe work, I was able to photograph them in a different manner. I just wish I had some glass cleaner with me for the mirror.

Moving over to the open air marketplace, a long wardrobe-like mirror rested against the wall behind an array of goods for sale. Patiently, I waited for someone to fill the void.

The perfect Cast Member, a Moroccan native gives me the image I wanted.
I used my Canon PowerShot SX100 IS for these photos and made sure to focus on who and what was in the mirror as well as the frame itself. Be sure your f-stop (aperture) is set to at least 8, a higher number like 11 or 16 would be even better. With plenty of natural light and a decent ISO of 200 or 400, you can pull off quick shots.
Look at you. Now look at me on Facebook. Connect with my photography and writing.
