Usually eat CS at AK because we love Flame Tree and Pizzafari, but decided to try Yak&Yeti. So glad we had a break from the heat. The air conditioning and ability to be served during the day was a much needed break. Although I love the food at Flame Tree, having to wait in line and then search for a shaded table really takes a toll. We were pleased with the lunch options. I liked the sweet & sour and DH liked the beef & broccoli. Kids were happy too. Definitely a place we will go back to now that our kids have outgrown the character meal at Tusker House.
Pros:
air conditioning, something differentCons:

I am consistently disappointed with Disney's dessert (except for 'Ohana's bread pudding), but not anymore! The cream cheese wontons rate right up there with 'Ohana. Our server was down to earth and fun. The entrees were good. Only complaint is, my curry had zero kick. Next time I will get the skirt steak and shrimp. The restaurant is supposed to reflect a rich man's mansion. He has supposedly ran into hard times and converted his home into a hotel and restaurant. The artifacts are actually from the area and we were encouraged to take a look around.
Pros:
Oh baby, the fried wontons!Cons:

Our server was very nice, however, after ordering our appetizers, we waited...and waited...until finally our entrees arrived. The problem was, we never got our appetizers. We were told that they would make us fresh entrees, but by the time they arrived 20 minutes later, it was clear they were the same entrees that had been put under a heat lamp. My daughter's entree was cold and the rest tasted like they'd been sitting around. That being said, the appetizers were delicious, wonton soup, wings and potstickers were excellent. Next time, I think we'd skip the entrees all together and just have some appetizers.

My family is very picky and I did not share with them the menu before we arrived. Based on the high score here on allears.net, I wanted to try Yak & Yeti. If my family had seen the Asian-infused menu they would have balked.
As we approached, the fact that it was located in "Asia" was not lost on my daughter. I assured everyone that that there would be something on the menu that they each liked.
We arrived about 30 minutes ahead of our ADR, but were seated within 5 minutes. Our server was attentive and took time to explain different dishes, what he recommended, and steered me away from a dish I was considering.
Well I have to say - we've been home a week and my son is STILL talking about the Ribs which both my husband and I had as well (they were very good and compared to a local rib place by us they they all like. Yak & Yeti won the comparison). My daughter who eats like a bird ate all the honey chicken so I think that's a big thumbs up too.
I think this will now be our go-to restaurant at the Animal Kingdom. And everyone admitted they were glad we tried it since they all enjoyed it.

My husband and I tried the Yak and Yeti a few days ago and we were very disappointed. Our experience started out okay. We went to the bar and got Yak Attacks, which were delicious. Our server was not good. He really tried to push the Landry's card on us, even though we said we were not interested. My husband ordered a Sprite and never got it. We were on a deluxe dining plan which entitled us to a dessert, which we never got. The server gave us the bill and walked away, so we just decided to leave rather than tracking him down to get dessert. We will not be returning here.

We had one of our best meals ever here. The only complaint I had about my lunch was that I wish I had ordered what my DH had. My chicken was great but his skirt steak and shrimp was amazing. Also my Mango pie was very good, but again...his cream cheese won tons with pineapple was amazing. On our November trip...I already know what I am having.

Second time we have eaten here on DDP. As on our previous trip to WDW we made this our first table service meal of the holiday. The food is still of a very good quality. I had the Duck with Anandupur glaze which was excellent and very filling. DW had the ribs which she really enjoyed and DD (15) had the Crispy Mahi Mahi which she said was fantastic. DS (12) had the Steak and Shrimp. He enjoyed the shrimp but thought the glaze on the steak was so-so. Kids both went for sorbet for desserts while I went for the New York cheesecake and my wife just had a bowl of ice cream. We were so full from the main course that we both struggled with desserts. We all love this place and it will be back on our itinerary for our next visit to WDW In two years time.
Pros:
Great food - good serviceCons:

We have eaten here every time we come to Animal Kingdom because we love the Duck with Anandapur Glaze and mushroom ravioli. But no more mushroom ravioli! My husband was very upset, but he got over it when he got the Seared Miso Salmon. My boys both got the Tempura Shrimp and my daughter basically ate cheeseburgers twice a day, every day (except at Mexico!) My boys and my brother are all allergic to peanuts and the chef came out to talk with us. That was very nice, it is so hard to explain to people that your child could die just by eating something that touched a peanut let alone eating a one. He knew how important this was.

My party of 4 ate here and really enjoyed it. The appetizers are large enough to share and the entrees are delicious. The tempura shrimp were nice and crispy but not greasy at all. The chocolate pudding cake is fantastic but very rich. 3 of the 4 got the dessert wontons and were happy with them. So glad this is on the dining plan!
Pros:
Excellent service, tasty food, unique decorationsCons:

We ate here the first day of our trip for lunch. They told us it would be a 20 minute wait time and it was right at that. The food was AMAZING! I had the BBQ ribs and mango pie. I highly recommend both. We had a little one with us that was hungry and tired. The waitress brought her a fortune cookie to entertain her. They were very attentive to our every need and the food was excellent. I would go back next time for sure!
