Our last in a string of 6 days at sea! We both slept in this morning and it felt really good. I popped down to deck 4 to walk/jog followed by a light breakfast (really!) of oatmeal and cantaloupe.
I think this is going to be a beautiful day although I sense a good part of it will be spent napping, reading, snacking, and probably drinking …and cigars for Michael, of course.
It’s been over a week since we left home and I miss my son. Email just isn’t the same. To make me feel better, this afternoon I had a lovely treat from the Vista Spa: a well-being massage. Very relaxing. My masseuse managed to zero in on the knots in my neck and shoulders. It was great.
This afternoon we had the opportunity to meet Don “Ducky” Williams. He signed our lithograph, a gift that each stateroom received.
In the theater, we got to see another special new show called Walt Disney: The Dream Goes On. Another fabulous review tracing the amazing career of Walt Disney told by those he inspired to create and dream.
Our dinner (formal night again) was in Parrot Cay with a special Transatlantic menu. Lobster night! Prime rib night! And, once again Michael had banana bread for dessert. On the last few cruises we’ve taken, Michael has always asked for chocolate chip cookies in lieu of any of the fancy desserts offered each night. This trip he’s taken a liking to the banana bread. The first few nights I think our server was in disbelief; now she has it waiting for him! It is pretty good, but I find it hard to pass up crème brulee or an ice cream sundae.
Thank goodness tonight we don’t have to set our clocks ahead. We can focus on getting a good night’s sleep before we get to our first European port tomorrow morning. And, it turns out we’ll arrive a bit earlier than originally planned. Apparently we have a guest requiring medical attention so the Captain has decided to keep up the speed in order to arrive as soon as possible.
And, this evening we broke down and called our son. It was so good to hear his voice and get an update on senior prom preparations!
That banana bread is amazing!!!! Our last time on the Magic Parrot Cay was our first restaurant. Our server noticed our love of the banana bread and brought us one or two baskets for the table (we were all obsessed) every night no matter what restaurant we were in!
How do you choose between lobster and prime rib? Or did you get both?
