This Disney World Ride Change Has Us VERY Worried

Something could be changing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and we’re not sure you’re going to like it!

Animal Kingdom

Disney is currently reworking the queue line at one of Animal Kingdom’s most popular attractions, Expedition Everest, to make the loading process smoother and more efficient. We recently went to the park to talk with a Cast Member there, and what we heard about the potential future of the queue line might upset some people. Let’s talk about it.

Changes have been hitting the queue line at Expedition Everest recently. First, a new pre-boarding video was added to the line about a month ago. Then, about a week ago, Disney started testing a new odds-and-evens system for the boarding process at Expedition Everest!

Expedition Everest

How does this new system work? Essentially, standby guests in the final holding area before the loading platform are now being sorted into odd and even numbered groups. Even-numbered parties are directed to the left, and odd-numbered parties to the right. With this pre-sorting, Cast Members can fill the ride vehicle more efficiently when guests get to the platform.

Right now, the system is in its testing phase only. A Cast Member told us that they will be doing it for about a month. They also told us that they are partnering with a third-party engineering company to run other things. Supposedly, the front line reaches capacity now because of what they are doing.

The Cast Member couldn’t provide the name of the third-party company, nor what they are specifically looking for. However, depending on the plans for the future of the queue line, the odds-and-evens system, the loading, all that jazz, could greatly determine what happens to a big component of the ride — single riders.

Depending on what they do and what they’re experimenting on, there’s a chance Disney might get rid of single rider. Now, don’t panic yet, because nothing has been confirmed. That being said, there is the possibility that the single rider line will no longer exist in the future!

The Cast Member told us that she doesn’t think they will get rid of the single rider line, but it all depends on the third-party engineering company and what they suggest changing.
