REVIEW: The Price Tag on This New Disney World Meal Is Just PAINFUL

Disney Springs is THE dining and shopping district at Disney World, and it’s filled with so many fun and unique places to eat! We’ve tried so many different snacks, meals, treats, and drinks there.

We recently went back to Disney Springs to try a new snack at the Polite Pig, and of course, we’re sharing our thoughts with you. We love pouncing on all the new food that drops at Disney World; we just can’t help it.

The Polite Pig is a modern barbecue outpost featuring Florida-inspired cuisine. You’ll find it in Town Centre at Disney Springs.

The new thing we went to try was the Chef Special Spicy Peach Glazed Pork Shank for $26. It’s slow-cooked, fall-off-the-bone tender, and coated in a bold peach glaze with a little kick, served with savory black-eyed peas.

First things first, this thing was HUGE. Not to sound silly, but it was like a dinosaur bone. The outside had a nice charred “crust” that was sweet while having a little kick to it.

The sweetness was not overbearing; however, it did not taste like peach to us, which was interesting because it was peach-glazed. The spiciness comes mostly from the dry rub with a little extra heat.

We’re not getting a lot of peach from this

The flavors work really well as a BBQ flavor, and it’s not slathered in sauce. The pork on the inside was cooked really well, and it was very tender and easy to bite into. The black-eyed peas were good too, but they were not the star. Overall, we would probably get this again, but it was a little steep at $26, so maybe not. The specials tend to be in this price range, and although they are tasty, we typically feel they are overpriced.
