We’re spilling all the best transportation secrets for Disney World!

We love that Disney World transportation is complimentary, but we hate that it can be so confusing to navigate for newcomers. Even if you’ve been around a while, there are some transportation tips and secrets that you may not know!
Collectible Coins and Cards
First of all, you may not have known that Disney World transportation offerings often have free collectibles! We’ve collected transportation trading cards in the past from people like monorail drivers and boat captains.

A slightly rarer collectible that we’ve seen is transportation coins. These were more prevalent during Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, but you might still see some out and about. If you’re traveling with kiddos or transportation enthusiasts, make sure to ask your transportation operator to see what they’ve got available.
Skyliner Gondolas Aren’t Soundproof
If you’ve ever walked from the bus station at Hollywood Studios to the front entrance, then you’ve probably heard snippets of conversation drifting down from the Skyliner gondolas above. But for those who’ve never walked underneath the Skyliner, they likely don’t know!

So even if you have a gondola to yourself, just know that the people walking below you may hear you spilling tea to your friends or singing Disney tunes at the top of your lungs. We’ve also definitely gotten some random blurbs from Skyliner gondolas passing us on the route going the opposite direction. They are NOT soundproof!
A Hidden Boat Route
There are quite a few different options for boat transportation in Disney World, and many hotels have boats that run to a park or to Disney Springs. However, perhaps the least-known route is one that runs between a few resorts.

In the afternoons and evenings only, you can catch a Water Taxi from Disney’s Contemporary Resort to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness…and vice versa! This route is excellent for those with dinner plans at the Monorail resorts or for anyone hoping to go to Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue.
Little-Known Hotel Walking Paths
Finally, we’ve got a great tip for those who like to get their steps in — there are several walking paths that go between two or more Disney World Resorts. The most famous is probably the pathway that goes all the way from the Transportation & Ticket Center through Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort to Magic Kingdom. You can also take that one a step further and walk to the Contemporary.

It’s also widely known that you can walk a full lap around Crescent Lake to visit Yacht Club, Beach Club, BoardWalk, and the Swan and Dolphin. In fact, this is a great path to take if you’ve rented a surrey bike at the BoardWalk.

For the Value Resorts, there is a pathway connecting all three All-Star Hotels that runs along the road. You can also travel between them by cutting through the parking lots. If you’re staying at Art of Animation or Pop Century, you can walk between the hotels by doing a full circle lap around Hourglass Lake.

You can pretty easily walk between Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Riviera Resort. In fact, some of the rooms at Caribbean Beach are closer to the Riviera than they are to the Caribbean Beach lobby or Skyliner Station.

But maybe the least-used walking path connecting hotels is the one that runs between Saratoga Springs Resort and Old Key West Resort. It’s quite the hike, and it’s much faster to use the Sassagoula River boat transportation, but if you’re in the mood for steps, it can be done.

Use these tricks, and you’re sure to make transportation a highlight of your trip instead of a bother!
