The day has finally arrived! Soon everyone will get a chance to experience Animal Kingdom‘s newest attraction.

It’s not Tropical Americas yet; we’ve still got a long way to go until we reach that point, but this new addition is located in the Tree of Life Theater. Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, which took the place of It’s Tough to be A Bug, is now open for Annual Passholder previews, and we’re here to talk you through exactly how to get a spot!
While the attraction itself is set to open on November 7th, Annual Passholder previews begin on November 5th and go through November 6th. However, there won’t be a regular standby line for these previews — instead, Disney will be using their Virtual Queue system again.

There will be two chances to get a spot in the Virtual Queue each day. The first drop will be at 7 AM, but the good news is that you can be ANYWHERE to join this virtual queue. Not just anywhere in the resort, anywhere at all! However, you do need a park pass to Animal Kingdom.

The second drop will be at 1 PM, and the same rules apply — you need a park pass to Animal Kingdom, but you can be anywhere to join the queue. But how exactly do you go about joining the queue? What does that look like? No worries, we’ll walk you through it!
Step-by-Step
- Ensure you’re signed into your Disney account on your My Disney Experience app at least 10 minutes before whichever drop you’re trying to get
- On the front page of the app, you’ll see the option for the Virtual Queue, even if you’re still many minutes away. If you don’t see it, click on the three lines on the bottom right, then scroll down to “Virtual Queue” and click on it.

- Click on the Virtual Queue page at LEAST 5 minutes before the drop to confirm your party, ensure you’re familiar with the app, and check your wifi

- One minute before the drop, toggle back and forth between the My Disney Experience app and the world clock to ensure you stay on the correct page for the drop

- Make sure you’re on the Virtual Queue page and continue refreshing the page until the “Join Virtual Queue” button turns blue, then click on it as fast as you can. Often, we notice that the drop happens on the SECOND, or sometimes a few seconds early.

If you don’t get in the first drop, just go ahead and try again for the second! We know it can be discouraging, but set an alarm on your phone for 12:50 PM ET to ensure you’re in place somewhere you can sit down and be solely focused on getting a spot in the 1 PM VQ.
Don’t forget that Zootopia: Better Zoogether officially opens on November 7th! Stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney World news.
