Two Warnings for Your 2026 Universal Orlando Hotel Stay

We’re a little worried about Universal Orlando hotels in 2026…

Helios Grand Hotel

It’s safe to say that 2025 was a MASSIVE year for the Universal Orlando Resort. We saw the resort complete a big-time expansion by opening Epic Universe (Universal’s third theme park) and THREE new hotels — with one INSIDE Epic Universe. It’s safe to say the vibes are pretty good over at Universal right now, but that could possibly change in 2026 — at least at the hotels.

While it’s hard to predict what will become of the Universal hotels in the future, there have been two trends that have us a bit concerned.

Universal Stella Nova Resort

For starters, the demand for all things Universal may still be exceptionally up in 2026. Epic Universe is going to feel like a new park for quite some time, and people are going to continue flocking to the popular Florida resort to experience it firsthand.

Then you have the usual draw for Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Florida, and Volcano Bay — all of which are well-regarded and attract visitors from all over the world.

Celestial Park

Universal may still be competing with Disney World and viewed as the little brother, but it won’t fail to capitalize on all this demand. We could easily see prices continue to go up in 2026, just as they have in 2025. That includes hotel rates.

While the Universal hotels are still relatively cheaper than Disney’s, it’s possible we see them catch up a bit next year. It’s still unlikely that Universal will make such a big jump that the rates all of a sudden break the bank (especially at the lowest and mid-tiered resorts), but it’s definitely something to keep an eye on.

Universal’s Helios Grand Hotel

As we previously mentioned, Universal opened up three hotels in 2025 — Helios Grand Hotel (inside Epic Universe), Terra Luna (next to Epic Universe), and Stella Nove (also next to Epic Universe). As we’ve seen over at Disney, it’s possible that Universal focuses more attention on its shiny new toys while other hotels are a bit forgotten. Sometimes, at least in Disney’s case, it can feel like touch-ups are prioritized at certain hotels while others are severely lacking TLC.

Cabana Bay pool

With that said, this concern might be a bit exaggerated, because Universal has something Disney doesn’t…Loews Hotels as a partner. Most of Universal’s hotels are all Loews hotels, meaning a hotel and resort company is really running the show in a joint venture with Universal, which is why these hotels offer perks like free shuttle service, early park entry, and — in some cases — complimentary Express Passes.

Loews Portofino Bay

Both Loews and Universal work together on hotel projects and operations, but Loews Hotels is the primary operator and manager of the on-site hotels, and Universal is the co-owner and financier behind the expansion projects. Universal can foot the bill, and Loews can deliver a great stay to help maintain a strong reputation.
