The summer fun in Disney World has officially transitioned into fall!
With the fall festivities in full swing, that means some serious summer perks have run their course! One of the best things about this summer is that, for the first time since 2019, both Disney World water parks were open! Now, that sweet moment has ended, and Blizzard Beach has closed for the season.
Disney World’s Blizzard Beach water park is officially closed! While we are sad to say goodbye to the slopes (for now), we still have Typhoon Lagoon to splash around in.
Both water parks were open from May 21st through September 7th, making one of the best Disney hotel perks even better. If you didn’t know, in 2025, anyone staying at a Disney World resort hotel received free water park entry on the day of their arrival. If you have an early morning flight or you’re looking to relax after a long travel day, this is an awesome Disney hotel perk!
Throughout the summer, guests could choose whether they go to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, making this perk even better thanks to the ability to choose. Your entire party that is registered in the room gets access to the water park on your arrival day, but now your only option is Typhoon Lagoon (which is still fun)!
This perk was one of the best when staying at a Disney World hotel, and it’s even returning in 2026! In 2026, the free water park perk will only be available in the summer and not the entire year. Disney has yet to share the exact dates when this will start, but we will be sure to keep you updated.
Also, hitting the vacation destination in 2026 is another free perk! Kids ages 3 to 9 get a Disney World dining plan for free. All you need to do is stay at a Disney Resort and purchase a dining plan for other members of the party, and boom! Free dining for kids!
If you’re checking into your Disney World resort anytime through the rest of 2025, you can leave your bags at the luggage counter at your resort and hit the water park before an evening of pizza in bed or dinner at Disney Springs. That sounds like an absolute dream right now!

The water park perk let us check out Blizzard Beach, we had only been to Typhoon Lagoon prior. Glad we checked it out, we like Blizzard Beach better, the food and drink options were better, and while it felt like there were fewer rides, the quality of the rides felt better.
While it was nice that Disney offered a day at the park free if you visited the day of arrival, not everyone benefited. Why can’t quests choose which day they would like to go? Many times those who fly don’t have an option to fly at the crack of dawn! Not to mention you’d have to pack beach items separately And change in public bathrooms instead of the comfort of your room, and of course many rely on bus transportation which is a time guzzler! Please Disney, consider this one change so we can all take advantage of this perk?!
