Disney dining has been getting a lot fancier lately — and your wallet might feel it.

Over the past year, Disney has opened several brand-new restaurants, and while we’ve loved the food, one thing is hard to ignore: some of these menus are priced like you’re dining in a luxury hotel… because, in some cases, you are. It all started with The Cake Bake Shop, but Bourbon Steak, GEO-82, and the soon-to-open Beak and Barrel have followed suit with pretty steep price tags. We’ll give you all the details so you can decide if these new spots are worth the splurge.
The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant by Gwendolyn Rogers
When The Cake Bake Shop opened at Disney’s BoardWalk on October 24th, 2024, it looked like something out of a fairytale. It’s pink, it’s sparkling, it’s dripping with Instagram-worthy desserts.

But the price tag? It’s more Cinderella’s Castle than BoardWalk quick bite. Meals here range from $35 to $59.99 per adult, and that’s before you even get to dessert — which, let’s be real, is the main reason you’re going.

We’ve had some truly magical experiences here. The service is polished, the presentation is stunning, and the pastries are almost too pretty to eat. But if you’re a family of four, that “just one special dinner” can quickly climb into the triple digits. And we’re not even counting drinks yet. If you’re planning a visit, our advice is to treat this as a special-occasion stop — not an “every trip” tradition unless you’ve got a vacation budget to match.

Bourbon Steak – A Michael Mina Restaurant
Over at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, Bourbon Steak opened its doors on July 26th, 2025. This place feels like it was built for people who want a steakhouse experience that screams “special night out.”

The menu leans into high-end cuts of meat, signature sides, and indulgent add-ons. Prices run from $35 to $59.99 per adult, but realistically, if you’re going for one of the premium steaks and a couple of sides, you’ll probably be at the higher end — or above — that range.

We’ve been impressed with the quality here. The steak is cooked to perfection, the flavors are rich, and the dining room atmosphere feels like you’ve left the park entirely and stepped into a chic city restaurant.

But the quiet shift we’ve noticed is this: in the past, you could find one or two elevated resort restaurants and plenty of mid-range sit-downs. Now, more and more new openings are landing firmly in “fine dining” territory. That means you’ll want to plan your reservations around both your itinerary and your budget.
GEO-82
EPCOT’s newest hideaway sits inside the geodesic sphere that’s home to Spaceship Earth, and it’s not your standard theme park restaurant. GEO-82 feels like a sophisticated lounge with moody lighting, a nod to EPCOT’s 1982 opening, and a menu built for slow sipping and snacking. At first glance, the price range — $15 to $34.99 per adult — doesn’t sound outrageous, but look closer and you’ll see that this is where the costs start to creep up.

Small plates like the Truffled Ahi Tuna ($23) and Jumbo Lump Crab Gâteau ($25) feel like they belong in an upscale city bistro. The artisanal cheese and charcuterie board? $29. Even the flatbread is $15.

Pair those with one of the signature cocktails — such as the Brown Butter Old Fashioned ($28) or Caramelized Leek Martini ($26) — and you’re well past the “mid-tier” meal you might have expected from the posted range.

That’s not to say it isn’t worth it. The flavors are inventive, the presentation is gorgeous, and the location is unmatched. You’re sipping drinks and eating elevated bites inside EPCOT’s most iconic landmark. But GEO-82 is a perfect example of how Disney is leaning into more premium dining options without shouting it from the rooftops. The numbers are on the menu — you just have to be ready for them.
The Beak and Barrel
Opening August 29th, 2025, in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom, The Beak and Barrel isn’t just another dining spot — it’s an immersive pirate tavern experience. This Caribbean-inspired hideaway promises a lively mix of small plates, themed cocktails, and in-character entertainment. The posted price range is $15 to $34.99 per adult, but like GEO-82, the extras can add up fast.

From the food side, you’ve got shareable plates like Island Provisions ($16) with plantain chips, blue corn tortillas, and multiple dipping sauces, plus Kraken’s Catch ($18) featuring marinated octopus with avocado and a piquillo pepper-almond foam. Even the griddle cakes — $12 to $14 depending on the filling — feel more like specialty tapas than theme park snacks.

The drinks lean heavily into pirate lore and tropical flair. Signature cocktails like the Siren’s Whisper ($20) and Salty Seas mARRRgarita ($20) fit the theme perfectly, while the Plunderer’s Punch in a souvenir skull mug will set you back $46. Add in premium rum pours ($45 for a 2-oz taste) and you’ve got a bill that rivals some of Disney’s resort lounges.

Entertainment-wise, expect sing-alongs, storytelling, and visits from Captain Merry Goldwyn’s chatty parrot, Rummy. It’s part dinner, part show — and a clear sign that Disney’s mid-tier price point is shifting toward “pay for the atmosphere” experiences.

What About Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs?
Now, for a quick palate cleanser — Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs at Disney’s BoardWalk opened on August 23rd, 2024, and their pricing is $5 to $15.50 per adult.

This is a much more casual, snack-based option and a totally different experience from the other four. We’ve loved the creative twists they’ve put on a classic corn dog, and it’s nice to know you can still find new spots that don’t require a fine dining budget.

That said, the majority of Disney’s newest full-service restaurants are creeping up in cost, and that’s something to keep in mind when you’re planning your dining reservations for your next trip.
Why This Matters for Your Disney Trip
The quiet change here isn’t that Disney is adding new restaurants — they’ve been doing that for decades. The shift is in where these new spots are landing on the pricing scale. A few years ago, you could count on a balance between affordable sit-down meals and high-end experiences. Now, the scales are tipping toward the pricier side, especially with highly themed, immersive dining.

If you want to try them all, it might mean swapping out other table-service meals or skipping a few extra snacks to balance your budget. On the flip side, if you go in knowing the costs and plan for it, these restaurants can deliver some of the best dining experiences on property.

Disney isn’t exactly advertising these changes — the pricing is all there on the menus, but unless you’re paying attention, you might not realize how quickly your dining costs can add up. We’ve enjoyed our visits to each of these spots, but we’d be doing you a disservice if we didn’t point out the trend.

So, before you book that next dining reservation, ask yourself: is this the splurge I want for this trip? Or do I want to save it for a special occasion? Either way, we’ll keep an eye on what’s opening — and how much it costs — so you’re never caught off guard.
