Disney World is stepping into the digital age. Okay, they’ve been in the digital age for a while, but this new addition is still pretty cool if you ask us.

Hey Disney! is a voice assistant that Disney developed alongside Amazon Alexa that has been rolled out inside Disney World hotel rooms. It can do a whole host of things — but we’ve still got three big problems.
You Can’t Link It To My Disney Experience
Hey Disney! can be used for a ton of different things, but if you’re looking to have it synced up with your My Disney Experience account, well, you’re out of luck. As of now, you can’t link your My Disney Experience account to the Hey Disney! in your hotel room.

Of course, it is linked to your hotel reservation, but the two systems haven’t been integrated. We would love to one day be able to tell Hey Disney! to book us a Lightning Lane or something along those lines, but as for now, we’ll stick to doing it on our phones!
It Can’t Order Food for You
Okay, picture this: you just got back to your hotel room after a long park day and are exhausted. We’re talking so exhausted that you can’t even move or pick up your phone. How cool would it be if you could just say, “Hey Disney! Order me a slice of pepperoni pizza!” and have your food ready when you go to pick it up?

Of course, room service would be better, but that hasn’t returned to Disney World hotels just yet. Being able to use Mobile Order at hotel restaurants via Hey Disney! would be a gamechanger, but we do enjoy the fact that you can still mobile order using the My Disney Experience app.
It Can’t Modify Your Reservations
This goes along with the problem of not being able to link your My Disney Experience account to Hey Disney! But, unfortunately, you won’t be able to make any sort of dining reservations or even modify those that you already have.

Ultimately, though, we do think Hey Disney! is a pretty great addition to the hotel rooms and it can come in handy and is super fun for kiddos. It can play bedtime stories after bathtime, wake you up with a fun alarm, and even tell you a joke.
We love using it to play Disney music when we’re getting ready for our next adventure too. Hey Disney! can also be used to request more towels and other housekeeping needs, ask about park hours and showtimes, and more.

You can also mute Hey, Disney! instead of unplugging so it can’t hear you, or you can fully unplug for your peace of mind.
