Okay, pin traders, we have BIG news for you!

We’ve been patiently waiting for a few more things to come to Disney World since the 2020 park closures, and some are finally returning soon in new ways — dining at 1900 Park Fare is getting a makeover and a new Little Mermaid stage show will be debuting in Hollywood Studios. One of the largest things we’ve been waiting on is Cast to guest pin trading, but the day is COMING SOON!
For those who may not know, pin trading is a popular souvenir exchange activity. You can purchase pins and then trade with Cast Members or other collectors to grow your collection. However, this fun trend was significantly altered to reduce contact between individuals during the pandemic. This included the use of trading boards like the one below.

But now, Disney has just announced that Cast Member to guest pin trading, where guests can trade pins with the personal lanyards and crossbody bags Cast Members wear around the parks, is finally returning on April 7th!

Currently, you can trade with Cast Members at select locations on pin boards but not on anything they are personally wearing, and it’s been pretty limited to kiosks, stands, and shops. But now you’ll be able to trade with Cast Members you’re seeing all around the parks right from their lanyards and bags!

We’re so excited that this is returning but feel it’s important to warn you to be on the lookout for fake Disney pins. These are pins that are bought online but NOT made by Disney and, therefore, are not an equal trade. PLEASE, do not purposefully trade these pins at any pin board or with others. It’s not fair to who you’re trading with, and it takes a lot of the fun and hunt out of the activity for visitors.
