You Need to AVOID Magic Kingdom on January 26th

Although January is generally a great time to visit Disney World, there are a few days here and there you might want to avoid.

The most obvious, of course, is New Year’s Day, because holidays tend to always be busy. EPCOT can also get a little crowded on the first day of the EPCOT Festival of the Arts (which was January 12th). However, there’s ANOTHER day you may not be thinking about, but you might want to avoid Magic Kingdom then.

That day you might want to avoid Magic Kingdom is January 26th. Now why is this so important? Well, it’s the LAST day you’ll get to see Country Bear Jamboree before the show closes for its revamp. It’s expected to stay closed until this summer when the NEW version of Country Bear Jamboree debuts.

We expect that a lot of Disney World guests will want to see the old version of the show one last time, sort of like how people waited HOURS in line to ride Splash Mountain before it closed for its re-theming into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure — construction is still ongoing.

The Country Bear Jamboree will become a NEW act with the Country Bears performing brand new songs. The new show takes inspiration from classic Nashville variety shows and Disney even tapped musicians from Nashville to give the Country Bears some new arrangements, including a rockabilly version of “Bare Necessities” from The Jungle Book.

Disney even premiered a brand new poster promoting the new Country Bear Musical Jamboree, opening in 2024. And we got to hear a rockabilly version of “Bare Necessities” from The Jungle Book.

The Country Bears will also get new outfits. It will include Easter Eggs from the original show while the bears sing new arrangements of Disney songs in country music genres like bluegrass, Americana, pop-country, rockabilly, and more.

So expect Magic Kingdom to be crowded on January 26th with guests wanting to get in one more Country Bear Jamboree before it changes this summer. We’ll be keeping an eye out for an opening date for the new show, so check back with  AllEars again soon.
