Come With Us To See New Year’s Day Crowds in Disney World!

Happy 2023, AllEars readers!

We’re celebrating today in Disney World (because why not!) along with LOTS of other Disney guests. There are lots of ways you can celebrate the new year in Disney World, so let’s check out what the crowds look like on this first day of 2023!

We were also in the parks last night for New Year’s Eve and are seeing how the crowds compare to today. Walking into the Magic Kingdom, we noticed that the crowds seemed sparse, and we didn’t have much of a wait to scan in.

Around the park itself, we are also seeing a drop=off in crowds from this past week, but of course there is always a line for coffee!

And the walk down Main Street, U.S.A. has its usual busy feeling.

Wait times for rides were looking, well, like a “normal” busy day and not a “mega-busy” one, as one of our reporters put it. At midday, Disney’s Hollywood Studios was showing wait times of 95 minutes for Rise of the Resistance and 75 minutes for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Over at Disney Springs, we saw “normal Sunday” crowds, rather than “holiday week crowds.

From our experience, these New Year’s Day crowds are consistent with past years. While we think of New Year’s Day as the cap-off of a busy holiday week, it’s often the day that Disney World crowds drop off as people travel home, or recover from a week of Disney World fun!
