Jollywood Nights is officially here!

This new and exclusive event promises fun, food, and festivities, and we’re bringing you with us to check it all out! And now, we’re heading to an exclusive party within this exclusive party — come with us!
Jazzy Holidays is hosted at The Hollywood Brown Derby each night. This iconic restaurant will turn into a sophisticated jazz joint with holiday music, craft cocktails, and an exclusive menu of light bites. You have to join the walk-up waitlist for a spot at this party which opened at 8:15PM. Shortly after we joined the waitlist, it was full! Keep refreshing the app throughout the night to see if it opens up. We noticed some partygoers nearby who were unable to get on the waitlist soon after it opened.
Finally, around 8:50 we were able to head in. So, let’s see what it’s all about!

There is both a Hollywood Brown Derby and a Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge option for the walk-up waitlist, but we recommend the restaurant if you want to be part of the action. The same food is available at both spots.

This place is decked out. You can see festive decorations and live performers while you enjoy your meal!

But of course, there’s a ton of EATS here too! Let’s see what we’re trying.

We started with the Oysters Rockefeller made with Spinach foam, shaved parmesan, rocoto pepper relish, and salmon caviar for $14.

The oysters were our favorite pick from the club! They were tender and VERY spicy (from the relish). They were fishy, as would be expected from oysters. If you don’t love fish or seafood, you probably wouldn’t enjoy these. The outside was nice and crispy and the salmon caviar added a great pop of texture! Overall, we would definitely get these again.
Next up, we had the Crispy Duck Drumettes with Spicy orange glaze, carrots, and kumquats for $14.

We first noticed the texture of these drumettes; finding them to be quite crispy and a bit dry. The sauce on them was almost like a candied orange glaze that was quite citrusy. They were not very spicy in the slightest. They didn’t blow you away great, but we found the price point to be pretty fair and we would probably try them again.
Next up, we tried the Pork Belly Bao with Korean BBQ, cucumber slaw, and soy vinaigrette for $12.

The pork in these buns was nice and tender! They were a bit fatty (which is expected of pork belly) and very flavorful. We loved how fresh the veggies were which mixed well with how savory the buns were overall. As great as the fillings were, we were a little disappointed by the buns themselves. They were a bit dry, not as soft and sticky as we expected. But they did add a nice hint of sweetness to the dish. Each bun comes out to $6, and we’re not so sure they’re quite worth that.
