NEWS: Disney World Monorail Will Open LATE Tomorrow

If you have already planned out your transportation options for Disney World tomorrow, you might need to rethink them.

Usually, when folks pull into the Transportation and Ticket Center they’re looking to hop one of two modes of transportation to either Magic Kingdom or EPCOT. On July 14th, 2023, you may need to look at modifying your existing plans.

Disney has just announced plans to delay the opening of their monorail lines on July 14th, 2023. They have announced an anticipated opening around 10AM.

While there’s no official reasoning offered on Disney’s announcement on their website, we suspect it’s due to routine maintenance on the monorail system.

During the downtime, Disney will be offering alternate modes of transportation to various destinations that are normally open on the monorail line when in operation like the monorail resorts and theme parks. The Ferryboat will be available to transport arriving visitors to Magic Kingdom in the early morning hours…

…and additional buses will be made available for those looking to be dropped off at EPCOT, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

There will also be an additional stop for those looking to round back from any of those destinations to the TTC should they have the need during the monorail delay.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on this delayed opening tomorrow and will continue to make you aware of any changes that may occur further. If you’ve already lined up your park days for Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, or one of the nearby hotels, this is a great time to review your plans and allow for more time to reach your destination and look into what alternate transportation options will be made available to you.
