We’re just going to say it — there’s been no shortage of Disney news this week, and if you’ve been following along with us, you’ve probably felt a little overwhelmed by it all.

But that’s okay because we’re going to break down the biggest news stories so you can stay updated on everything that’s going on with the Walt Disney Company, Disney Parks, Disney entertainment, and more.
Price Increases at Disney World
It might be easier for us to tell you what hasn’t had a price increase at Disney World after this week, but we’ll do our best to fill you in on what is now more expensive there. So here’s what’s going to cost more at the resort: Minnie Ears, Refillable Resort Mugs, Water and Soda, Private Photo Shoots, and building Lightsabers and Droids in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

But wait because we haven’t even talked about all the price increases at restaurants, including many popular restaurants like Be Our Guest and Chef Mickey’s. So if you’re making a budget for a Disney World trip, be sure to check those menus so you can budget accordingly.

Disney Genie+ Gets Flexible Pricing
Disney also recently announced that Genie+ will now be using flexible pricing, meaning you’ll pay more when there’s more demand. Previously, Genie+ was $15 per day every day.

Now, though, that pricing will depend on the day you visit the park, with the starting price of $20 per day (up $5 from the previous price) at the lowest and up to $22 per day on busier days.

Reopenings at Disney World
We have some reopening news to share from Disney World. Monsieur Paul in the France Pavilion in EPCOT, which has been closed since 2020, will finally reopen on October 18th. Reservations are now available.

Also, Fantasmic! which has also been closed since 2020, will return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in November 2022.

Disneyland News
Disney World wasn’t the only park to get hit with price increases and changes to Genie+. Disneyland has also seen some price increases on building lightsabers and droids in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Disneyland’s ticket prices also saw a substantial price increase.

Disneyland’s Genie+ has also switched to flexible pricing — it was previously $20 per day. Now, it will cost at least $25 per day. The price, though, can be more expensive, depending on the day. However, a new ride has been added to Genie+: WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure in Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure.

MagicBand+ will also be coming to Disneyland soon — on October 19th.
Finally, the full list of food booths for California Adventure’s Festival of the Holidays has been released.

Disney Delays Release Dates For Movies
Disney has delayed the release dates for several upcoming movies, including Blade, which was moved a year from November 3rd, 2023 to September 6th, 2024. This is probably due to the film losing its director.

Deadpool 3 has moved from September 6th, 2024 to November 8th, 2024. Fantastic 4 is moving from November 8th, 2024 to February 14th, 2025. An untitled Marvel movie has been moved from February 14th, 2025 to November 7th, 2025.

Avengers: Secret Wars will no longer premiere on November 7th, 2025 — the new release date is May 1st, 2026. Another untitled Marvel project set for release on May 1st, 2026 has been entirely removed from Disney’s upcoming release calendar.
