Disney CEO Bob Chapek’s “Right-Hand Man” Joins McDonald’s Board

Disney executives have been in the news a lot lately, especially the CEO Bob Chapek.

Chapek has recently commented on the “m-word”, the future of Disney’s streaming service Disney+, and how he is “balancing” who is let in the theme parks. But now, there’s news about another Disney executive who is leaving the company.

According to CNBC, Disney executive Kareem Daniel has joined the McDonald’s board. He is the fourth director to join the board this year. McDonald’s is headquartered in Chicago, where Daniel is from.

Kareem Daniel is currently leading the Disney media and entertainment distribution group, overseeing streaming service growth, TV channels and film distribution. He is said to be CEO Bob Chapek’s “right-hand man.”

Daniel previously had leadership roles with Disney’s corporate strategy, consumer products, games, and publishing teams, and Walt Disney Imagineering.

McDonald’s and Disney have a pretty long history together — there is currently a McDonald’s on Disney property. They also used to have a partnership and McDonald’s fries were served at some restaurants in the parks!

For recent McDonald’s news, the fast food chain recently added adult Happy Meals to the menu and there are currently Cars Happy Meal toys available at the restaurants.
