Top Three EPCOT World Showcase Countries for Foodies

EPCOT is one of our favorite parks at Walt Disney World. In addition to the attractions in Future World, there are 11 pavilions to explore in World Showcase.

Each pavilion in the World Showcase represents a different country and is jam packed with great shopping and restaurants.

If you are a foodie, there are three pavilions that stand apart from the other eight. Here are our three favorite pavilions for foodies in EPCOT.

France

We can’t talk about culinary treats without talking about French food. The France pavilion has a variety of restaurants at different levels from Quick Service to top tier fancy dining. If you want a quick sandwich or a delicious pastry, there is Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie. Les Halles even opens up before the rest of the World Showcase, so you can start your day with traditional French pastries. If that doesn’t satisfy your sweet tooth, you can get a crepe at Crepes des Chefs de France or some ice cream at L’Artisan des Glaces.

The France pavilion also has two Table Service restaurants were you can try traditional French cuisine without the nine hour flight. Chefs de France feels like you are eating right in the heart of Paris with classic dishes like Escargots and Boeuf Bourguignon. If you want an even more elevated experience there is Monsieur Paul. They offer a classic French menu and two prix fixe menus with either four or seven courses. You can even see the fireworks from a few of the tables at Monsieur Paul.

Japan

Now we jump from the classic standard of fine dining to the modern standard for cuisine: Japanese. If you haven’t tried Japanese food yet and are hesitant, it is much more than just sushi with raw fish. A great intro is a fun Japanese dessert called kakigōri. Kakigōri is a shaved ice cream that comes in fun fruity flavors. You can pick one up at Kabuki Cafe in the Japan pavilion. Another easy first step into Japanese cuisine is the Quick Service restaurant Katsura Grill. You can get curry, teriyaki, udon noodle, and simple sushi dishes.

If you aren’t new to Japanese food or are ready for the next step, check out one of the Table Service options like Teppan Edo or Takumi-Tei. Teppan Edo has grill top tables where you can watch chefs cook right in front of you. The menu features steak, seafood, and sushi; you can even get wagyu beef there. Takumi-Tei is a signature restaurant that offers more authentic Japanese options including a tasting menu with various wagyu preparations.

Mexico

Mexican food isn’t always the first type of food that comes to mind with fine dining, but the popular cuisine is derived from a diverse food culture in Mexico. There are two Quick Service options in the Mexico pavilion, which has some of the best Quick Service food in EPCOT: Choza de Margarita and La Cantina de San Angel. Choza de Margarita is mostly known for their margaritas but does have a small menu with Tacos Al Pastor and Esquites (Mexican street corn). La Cantina has a similar menu to Choza de Margarita that includes tacos and empanadas.

If you have a little more time, there are two Table Service options in the Mexico pavilion.  La Hacienda de San Angel offers up a variety of classic dishes like  tacos and Queso Fundido. If you schedule your reservation right, you can watch the fireworks from your seat while eating. San Angel Inn Restaurante, the other Table Service option, is located in the main pavilion building, and while you dine there it feels like eating under the stars in Mexico. San Angel Inn Restaurante has traditional Mexican dishes like enchiladas and the deliciously spicy Camarones a la Diabla.
