Earlier this year, Universal Orlando Resort began its phased reopening, which included the reopening of its hotels in addition to its theme parks and CityWalk.

While some hotels reopened for guests, some announced that they would re-close, and there were additional hotel properties that originally did not plan on reopening until 2021. However, it looks like some of those plans have changed!
Loews Portofino Bay Hotel has officially reopened at Universal Orlando Resort. We noticed last month that the resort quietly began accepting reservations once again, for arrivals beginning on December 1st.

Universal Orlando Resort confirmed the hotel’s grand reopening via Twitter earlier today.

Portofino Bay is the best Theme Park adjacent hotel. Much better than any Disney Hotel (not comparing to amenities of DVC). It is pricey, but if you can budget it, it is worth every penny. Includes unlimited front of line access at the parks. Has a Starbucks onsite and a quick restaurant called Sals where you can feed the entire family dinner for less than 30 dollars. So breakfast and dinner are super affordable. The pizza at Sals is phenomenal. Live entertainment on the “bay” in the evening. I cannot recommend enough.
