In the wake of the global pandemic, resorts worldwide have had to make difficult decision when it comes to closing and canceling reservations as a result of those closures.

Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa has been closed since March and has yet to announce any reopening plans. We have just learned that another wave of cancelations at Aulani is occurring and will impact travelers through at least mid-October.
Guests with reservations at Aulani through October 17th are beginning to receive communication that their reservations are being canceled. At this time, all Disney-imposed cancelation fees are being waved.

Recently, we shared the news that the state of Hawaii was not permitting trans-Pacific travel until at least October 1st. At this time, that date has not changed, but it appears that Disney has decided to move beyond that October 1st date in canceling upcoming reservations.

We will continue to keep a close eye on Aulani and will provide updates as we learn more.
Did you have travel plans to Aulani this year that were impacted due to the closure? Let us know in the comments.

Yesterday I was checking my Aulani DVC reservation starting Oct 15th because that was the announced change in Hawaii’s entrance procedures. A 72 hour, or less, negative test will allow Oahu access. Not to the other Islands. I was surprised that DVC took my reservation for a CLOSED hotel without informing me it was closed! My research found that not only is it closed, NO opening date is available. I also learned that the Luau has been cancelled through November.Hope this helps other DVC members trying to book Aulani.
