Hawaii Just Extended Their Travel Restrictions. Here’s What That Could Mean for Disney’s Aulani Resort.

Despite the summer travel season coming to a close, many tourists may still be looking to see if there is any potential for a fall getaway.

Aulani

Those looking to visit the Aloha State will need to wait a bit longer, as the Governor has pushed back when trans-Pacific travel can resume. This seems to be falling in-step with Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa, which has not announced reopening plans but is still accepting reservations for stays starting in October.

Previously, the state of Hawaii had intended to resume trans-Pacific travel to the islands beginning on September 1st. That has now been delayed by one month. The state will not permit trans-Pacific travel until at least October 1st, according to the Governor’s website.

As of July 23rd, Aulani has yet to announce a reopening date for the resort.

Currently, anyone looking to make a reservation at Aulani may do so for arrivals starting on October 1st, 2020. This is the same date that the Governor’s extension of the state’s travel ban is in effect through.

We will continue to keep a close eye on Aulani as well as the state’s travel restrictions and will share information as we learn more!

  1. Had reservations for April, changed to Oct. Cast member, Kahea Spenser, was fantastic helping me with room info (ocean view) and Luau reservations. It’ll be my son’s first visit to Hawaii and hopefully we get there and he gets to see a Luau.

  2. Yes we had 14 days reserved at Aulani in July. Have been there once and we wanted to share with our family. Had 10 of us going.
Hoping to go in 2021 but not getting to excited about it. Really don’t believe it will happen.

  3. Yes! We were scheduled to visit Aulani this fall. But cancelled our plans in March. Who wants to spend 14 days in quarantine in a hotel room? Hopefully, we will be able to go in 2021.

  4. We have been to Aulani every year since it opened and several times twice a year.
We are DVC members. It is our favorite hotel in the world. We love it. We have changed our reservations twice this year due to Covid-19.
We are now scheduled for 12 days ocean view.
in early December. Hopefully it happens. If not we will wait and hope the beautiful island of Oahu and their people get well and stay safe .
Special good wishes to the people who work at Aulani as they are just the very best.
Much Aloha to all of you.

  5. Yes, covid affected our plans. We were supposed to be at Aulani for 12 nights (ocean view) in early September…canceled in March. This would have been our third trip to this beautiful resort.
