REVIEW: A Popular Disney World Hotel Restaurant Just One-Upped EPCOT

One of our favorite spots to get some ice cream in Disney World is Beaches & Cream Soda Shop!

Milkshake time!

This restaurant serves retro diner food along with some of the wildest ice cream creations we’ve ever seen — delicious sundaes, massive milkshakes, and of course, the iconic Kitchen Sink, which serves FOUR people. But did you know you can grab some of their treats from the walk-up window without making a reservation? We recently stopped by to try a seasonal shake.

The Beaches & Cream To-Go window is located to the right of the restaurant entrance, on the patio. You can easily walk up here during its hours and order from the limited menu, then sit at one of the outdoor tables overlooking Stormalong Bay to enjoy your dessert.

During a recent visit here, we tried the limited-time Spring Shake, which is a vanilla shake, orange-tangerine syrup, condensed milk, and orange sprinkles topped with an orange macaron for $16.

The new shake!

Ultimately, the shake didn’t really come out looking like its picture. The macaron was tucked down inside the jar instead of sitting pretty on the top of a pile of whipped cream.

Spring Shake

This reminded us a lot of the macaron-topped orange shake available currently at the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival at Sunshine Seasons. However, this one is much improved flavor-wise. While the other one tasted like milky orange juice, this one had much more of a true creamsicle flavor. It’s fruity and creamy at once.

However, we will say that we liked the macaron on the EPCOT shake better than this one. This macaron had a bit of a medicinal taste to it from the fake orange flavoring. Kind of a stark contrast to the delicious shake.

The macaron

We might not order this again, but it was definitely yummy if you’re an orange creamsicle lover or you want something bright and fruity instead of rich and chocolatey. However, we’d still choose other Beaches & Cream shakes over this.
