It’s a sad day for the animal lovers out there, as four more closures have officially hit Animal Kingdom.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch is situated behind the Africa section of the park and features a petting zoo, a conservation area, and a Disney character drawing experience. To get there, you have to take the Wildlife Express Train — but as of February 23rd, the experiences will be unavailable.
It’s official — four more closures have hit Animal Kingdom. As of February 23rd, Rafiki’s Planet Watch, including the Wildlife Express Train, Affection Section petting zoo, Conservation Station, and the Animation Experience have all closed as Disney makes way for a new Bluey experience.

Disney has shared that three of these closures are temporary — the Wildlife Express Train, Conservation Station, and the Affection Section will all reopen sometime later this year, when the Bluey experience opens.

However, it seems as though the Animation Experience will permanently close so that Disney can transition the space into the new Bluey attraction. This means that there will no longer be a space to learn from Disney artists and animators outside of the Animation Academy that takes place during the EPCOT Festival of the Arts.

But, you can still head down to the train station for a meet and greet with some iconic characters in fun outfits! When we stopped by, we saw Goofy…

…Donald…

…and Daisy!

As far as the Bluey experience at Animal Kingdom goes, beginning in summer 2026 at Disney World, park-goers will be able to play and dance with Bluey and Bingo!

Expect to get your wiggles out with Bluey and Bingo as you play some favorite games from the show — like butterfly Keepy Uppy! As of now, Disney hasn’t revealed an official start date for this new Bluey experience, but we will be on the lookout for more details.

We’ll be on the lookout for more updates about these closures, including when we might expect them to reopen again. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and beyond!

It’s too bad they are closing the Animation studio. It was a relaxing, all ages activity- a nice break to sit in AC area and a cute free souvenir.
Bluey will be targeted at the very young children, no reason to take the train now.
