Planning a trip to Disney World and not sure where you should eat while you’re there? Luckily, you’ve come to the right place!

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by The House of Blues at Disney Springs and are bringing you our FULL review!
Background
House of Blues is one of Disney World’s many nightspots and brings in chart-topping live music year-round — but it’s also home to some excellent southern comfort food!

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.
Atmosphere
Southern fare is on the restaurant menu here. In the past, we’ve loved the jambalaya and voodoo shrimp, along with some strong drinks and standout desserts.

A Bayou Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays, too. And the Front Porch Bar outside also boasts live music! The vibe in here is super eclectic, and as you might have guessed, the restaurant is heavily influenced by music.

There are quite a few different dining rooms, and this spot can seat large parties, which is good to know if you’re traveling in a big group. There’s a mixture of booth and table seating, and the main dining room features an upper deck and a lower deck.

But enough about that, what are we eating?!
Food & Drinks
We were SO excited for our meal here, and we kicked things off with the Mac & Cheese Skillet for $12. This is made with a four-cheese sauce and is topped with toasted breadcrumbs. You can also add pulled pork, brisket, or Cajun shrimp for an additional charge.

Y’ALL. Did we just find our new favorite mac & cheese at Disney World?! This skillet was SO incredibly creamy and cheesy. We do wish there were more breadcrumbs on top because they were perfectly crunchy and added a nice texture. The parsley sprinkled on top was a nice touch of freshness that added an herbaceous flavor.
There was a major cheese pull that was so gratifying, and the pasta itself was well-cooked without being overly done and mushy. And, for the price, this was a LOT of mac & cheese!

For our main meal, we had the Shrimp & Grits, which you can get for $26. This is made with sauteed shrimp, chipotle cream sauce, chives, and a crispy cotija cheese grit cake.

This dish was surprisingly good. The spice level was a slow burn that gradually increased as you continued eating. The star of the show, besides the shrimp, was the deep-fried grit cake, which is their unique spin. They take mozzarella cheese and deep fry it with the grits, and it is surprisingly delicious and super crunchy.
This spin on a classic dish is a bold decision, but it works. There is a hint of black pepper on each bite of this dish, and we enjoyed building bites from the components. The sauce is rich and creamy and clings to each bite perfectly. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, making this a dish we would come back again to have. This dish is huge; you definitely will not walk away hungry. It’s totally shareable, too.

We also tried the BBQ Bacon Smash Burger for $21. This comes with a double patty, a brioche bun, cheddar cheese, applewood bacon, crispy onions, and Memphis BBQ sauce. It’s served with French fries.

This was a solid burger! The bun was nicely toasted, which makes this burger a little more stable with all the BBQ sauce and toppings. These layers of flavor in this burger, with a well-cooked beef patty, barbecue sauce, and crispy onion strings, make this the perfect choice for anyone who isn’t looking for anything beyond a classic cheeseburger. The cheese sort of gets lost in this, though, because the barbecue sauce and the onion strings are the main attraction. The fries are good and crisp classic fries, but we left most of the fries in favor of the burger.

For dessert, we ordered the Bread Pudding with bourbon butter and toffee sauce for $16.

This dessert is always a favorite of ours. It is huge, though, so make sure you bring a friend or two to help tackle this dessert. This is ooey gooey perfection. The bread pudding is perfectly soaked in custard, making the texture firm but soft at the same time, creating the perfect amount of chew. Although this is a sweet dessert, the cream cheese topping adds a savory layer that balances each bite. The caramel sauce is outstanding, and there is enough to dip every bite. We were lucky enough to have an end piece which was caramelized perfection. This is our favorite for a reason.

To wash everything down, we had the Green Gator Cocktail, which was $16. This is made with Siesta Key Toasted Coconut Rum, Midori® Melon Liqueur, pineapple, orange, and mint. It’s supposed to be served in a souvenir cup, but ours was served in a regular glass.

Although the color of this cocktail is slightly off-putting, reminding us of murky swamp water, the taste is actually light and fruity and perfect for a hot day. The alcohol is not too strong, making this a balanced drink that is easy for any light fruity cocktail lover.
So, should you add The House of Blues to your list?
