You may have begun to notice that many locations in the United States have decided to make the decision to go cashless. What started as certain lines or locations being cashless, but others still accepting it, has now turned into lots of places deciding to go entirely cashless.

Disney World starting switching to cashless at their popcorn carts in the park, and now, another Orlando theme park has followed in their footsteps, but in a BIGGER way. Universal’s Volcano Bay just announced that starting soon, the entire water park will be cashless.
Universal Orlando Resort has just announced that beginning February 25th, 2026, the entirety of Volcano Bay will become cashless. Payments will then only be made by credit or debit card, Universal Pay, Universal Gift Cards and other tap-to-pay methods.

However, if you do bring cash to the park, you’ll be able to use their Cash-to-Card Kiosks to load the money onto a Visa Prepaid card, which can then be used inside the park. It can also be used anywhere else that debit and credit cards are available, so if you have more left after your day ends, you haven’t lost anything!

As a reminder if you’re visiting the park this year, it’ll close for it’s annual refurbishment on October 26th, 2026, and has a planned reopening on or before March 24th, 2027.
