The NEW Rule You Need To Know Before Buying Popcorn at Disney World

If we’re going to Disney World, we’re probably going to be stopping at a snack cart! From popcorn, ice cream, soda, and water, these carts are our little pick-me-ups throughout our park day.

We noticed a change during our last visit to a popcorn cart, and this is one you need to know about before you pull out your wallet!

Snack carts at Disney World are starting to go cashless. You’ll be able to pay with a credit card, a Disney gift card, or a mobile payment. No need to pull out your bills and coins when getting that popcorn refill.

Cashless

If you are coming in with cash, you can still use it at other locations and purchase a gift card. Then you can take your gift card and use it anywhere you need to!

Right now, we’re seeing this at popcorn and ice cream carts, but it might start heading to other locations like EPCOT festival booths and smaller quick service locations. We’re going to keep an eye on it to see where cashless is headed next.

Animal Kingdom

Disney World has also just increased its prices for many dining locations, tickets and Annual Passes, and merchandise items. While it only goes up a few dollars, these increases can really add up during your visit, so you’ll want to budget more than you were originally planning.

Magic Kingdom

One example is one of our favorite desserts at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom, where the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake increased from $6.99 6o $7.39. Remember, you’ll have to pay more for almost every snack and every meal for the whole family.
