The Risky Restaurant Hack I Just Discovered at Disney Springs

We recently pulled off something at Disney Springs that felt a little chaotic, a little bold, and surprisingly successful.

Homecomin’

We “rope dropped” a restaurant. Yes, a restaurant. And now we need to talk about it because it might just change how you plan your next dining day. Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ can sometimes be a tough table to snag, and this trick helped us skip the long wait entirely. It is risky, and it will not always work, but if you are willing to try something a little unconventional, this could be your new favorite Disney Springs strategy.

When we say we rope dropped Homecomin’, we mean we got there right as they opened and walked right in with zero reservation. No waitlist. No praying to the dining gods for a same-day cancellation. No crossing our fingers for a walk-up. We just strolled in, got seated, and started planning a feast.

Homecomin’

If you have ever tried to get into Homecomin’ later in the afternoon or evening, you already know that wait times can stretch. Rope dropping removes that stress entirely, which is why we are now fully converted to the early strategy. The catch is that nothing about this strategy is guaranteed, so going in with a backup plan is essential. Still, we found it shockingly smooth.

Homecomin’

Homecomin’ has a few details that make this hack even more appealing. There is a first-come, first-served bar area that can save you during busier times, and the full menu is available there.

Homecomin’

If you still want the security of a reservation, keep checking the app because cancellations pop up randomly throughout the day. We have seen people grab last-minute reservations simply by refreshing while strolling around Disney Springs.

Homecomin’

Once you are seated, the real reason you rope drop Homecomin’ becomes very clear. This place serves some of the most consistently fantastic comfort food anywhere on Disney property.

It’s time to EAT!

You will find Homecomin’ in the Landing section of Disney Springs, and the restaurant offers indoor seating, outdoor seating, and an open-air patio that always feels lively.
