Disney's Grand Floridian DOES Have a Gingerbread House This Year…But There's a Catch

We’ll admit that we’re a little disappointed that we won’t get to see the giant gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa this year due to the construction in the lobby (although the opening of the new lobby bar has sort of taken some of the sting out of our disappointment).

Well, we actually just found a gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian…but there’s a catch. It’s tiny, and it’s sitting on top of a snack, but you know what? We’ll take it. So let’s talk about the Gingerbread Brownie at Gasparilla Island Grill.

The Gingerbread Brownie is a gingerbread-spiced brownie with salted caramel ganache for $6.79. It also has an adorable gingerbread house sitting on top of it. That alone makes it Instagra-worthy. We’re impressed that it’s really a full-on tiny gingerbread house with icing details. We will warn you that the brownie itself doesn’t really have a strong gingerbread flavor and reminded us more of a dulce de leche brownie. But we really wanted more of that warm gingerbread flavor. It’s well-constructed with the pieces held together by chocolate.

The frosting also had a hint of spice to it, but again, it doesn’t say “gingerbread.” The brownie, though is dense and thick and falls on the fudgy spectrum of brownie types. The only real gingerbread flavor comes from the house (and we almost regretted eating it). But it’s way better than those gingerbread shingles you can buy in the lobby when the big gingerbread house is up.

So if you’re wanting to get those Grand Floridian gingerbread vibes, you can…sort of…in miniature. Plus this one is fully edible. We also think kids are going to beg for this treat as soon as they see it in the display case.
