REVIEW: We Ate a Macaron That Looks Like a Donut for Disney's Zootopia: Better Zoogether (And You Should, Too)

There’s a NEW attraction opening soon in Disney’s Animal Kingdom…

Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is the new show in the Tree of Life theater, featuring some of your favorite pals from the movie. It’s officially opening on November 7th, and to honor the occasion, Disney has released some NEW snacks we got to try.

Over at Isle of Java on Discovery Island, there are two treats you can check out for the opening of the new show. They have a new coffee and a themed macaron!

First up is the Bunny Burrow Coffee, which is available for $5.99. This cold brew has a layer of Monin blueberry syrup at the bottom, topped with sweetened condensed milk. Once you mix everything together, the drink is rich, thick, and creamy.

It reminded us more of a melted milkshake than an iced coffee, so it’s definitely on the sweet end of the spectrum. The unfortunate downside is that the blueberry syrup flavor was incredibly light…to the point where it was hard to taste. The condensed milk is the overwhelming flavor here.

The other item available is the Clawhauser’s Donut Macaron for $5.99. It’s filled with chocolate ganache and strawberry jam, and topped with a chocolate “glaze” and rainbow sprinkles. The chocolate flavor is definitely the strongest thing happening here.

We wish the ratio of chocolate to strawberry jam were a bit more balanced, because the strawberry flavor didn’t come through as well as we would’ve liked. Those bites where we got the berry flavor were refreshing, but they’re few and far between. If you’re a chocoholic, this might be the right treat for you.
