Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort Is About To Look DIFFERENT in Two Days

Picture this: you check into your Disney World hotel, pop on your bathing suit, and head to the pool to relax. There’s just one problem: the pool is closed. Say what?!

This little story is the PERFECT EXAMPLE of why we warn you to do your research before you make a hotel reservation. Look out for closures, refurbishments, or random outages that may impact your stay! In fact, over at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, there are THREE closures happening at one time, starting in just two days.

Beginning on October 13th, the Paddock Pool, Paddock Grill, and the aquatic play area will all close for routine maintenance. They will remain closed through early December, though no official reopening date has been set yet.

The Paddock Pool features a 146-foot-long waterslide that flows from the top of a water tower, a gently sloping, zero-depth entry point to make entry into the pool easy for all, as well as a horseshoe-shaped whirlpool spa, and an aquatic play area that features 2 “pint-sized” waterslides. The pool is VERY popular with guests, so if you were really hoping to experience it, you may want to hold off on staying here.

The Paddock Grill is the neighboring dining location by the pool and offers small bites and poolside snacks like the Saratoga Burger, Cobb salad, various sandwiches, plus a selection of alcoholic drinks.

Fortunately, you will be able to visit the High Rock Spring Pool, which features its own waterslide, whirlpools, and Donald Duck-themed play area for the little ones. The On The Rocks Pool Bar and the resort’s leisure pools will also remain open.

Fun fact! This hotel opened in 2004 and sits on some of the oldest developed land in Disney World. It was originally constructed as part of a now-abandoned community that was once planned to be part of Disney World, but this location has also been home to the Disney Village Resort and the Disney Institute since its inception. We love staying at this resort for its close proximity to Disney Springs, and its quiet, serene atmosphere — however, if you’re looking for heavy Disney theming, this likely won’t be the hotel for you.
