Fans Are Calling Out 3 Glaring Problems That Need to Be Fixed ASAP on Disney Cruise Line

A Disney cruise may be magical, but it’s not necessarily perfect.

We’ve been setting sail for YEARS now, and with any vacation, Disney Cruise Line sailings have their pros and cons. But if you’re prepared for the experience going in, you can set your expectations. We recently asked our followers what problems they’d like to see Disney Cruise Line solve, and they had quite a few suggestions!

We recently posted a poll on our Facebook page, asking our followers what problems they think Disney Cruise Line needs to fix.

We got quite a few responses, and some of them were really interesting! Let’s dive in.

The Pricing

It’s no surprise that the most popular problem fans want Disney Cruise Line to solve is the pricing. One person said, “Price correctly and over-deliver like you used to. Right now, I feel everything is overpriced and mediocre. Drinks are way overpriced, too.”

Disney Treasure Stateroom

Many others agreed that the price isn’t as valid for what’s offered these days, and that they’re getting priced out of even taking Disney cruises. With other, more affordable, cruise lines on the market, it’s more of a challenge to choose Disney if you’re on a tight budget.

Food Problems

Another common complaint is that the food quality has decreased on Disney Cruise Line in recent years. One person said that they’re tired of the same menus on every ship, while another noted that the food just wasn’t as good as it used to be.

Other fans want Disney to bring back the nighttime buffet or to have earlier dining times. One person suggested staggered dining starting at 5PM so that you could experience more of the evening entertainment.

Merchandise Availability

One common complaint among our readers was the availability of merchandise on board the ship. Some said they’d been eager to buy a particular souvenir, but it was unavailable by the time they boarded the ship.

Royal Regalia

One suggestion was that Disney Cruise Line should offer guests the ability to preorder merchandise, so that it’s available for them to pick up when they arrive. This would be particularly useful for holiday seasons or specialty cruises, like when the Wonder goes to Alaska.

  1. The only “problem” that I see is that there is only 1 self serve drink station, which is on the top deck. I’m not including the one at the buffet restaurant as sometimes that restaurant is closed and also, it’s so busy with diners that you don’t want to be nipping to get a drink if you’re not dining there. I feel it would be handy to have another station maybe halfway up the ship, as the ships are so big, it can be a long trip to the top deck to get refill.

  2. Ok, the food? Every line has the same menus on their ships. That is not a Disney thing.

As for merch? It is only sold out “before you board” if it was sold out on/during the previous cruise and a shipment didn’t get there (thank the whole tariff debacle for the supply chain). Because the shops are not open when the ship is in port.
