Magic Kingdom is in the midst of some pretty intense construction in more than one place, but ESPECIALLY over in Frontierland.

In the coming years, we’ll be getting a Villains Land behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, as well as the new Piston Peak land where Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat used to be. We just got a look at what construction is really looking like, and needless to say, these additions are looking MASSIVE in size.
Thanks to @bioreconstruct on X (formerly Twitter), we can check out an aerial view of the construction in the park on both lands at the same time. And what we’re seeing now is that LOTS of land clearing is going on. The entirety of Rivers of America has been drained at this point, and it looks as if silt is being removed.

It’s pretty wild to see this once massive body of water totally empty, and to see its actual size from above. Unless you frequently rode the riverboat, you may have forgotten that it went all the way around the back of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad as well, so the pathway for it is pretty huge.

It’s also been noted that the Magic Kingdom train tracks have been removed from behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Does this mean the train will be rerouted through Villains Land? Nothing has been confirmed yet, so we’ll have to wait and see!
The service bridge has been lowered for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad trains. This gives the trains access between the attraction and the service building.

Speaking of Villains Land, over in that area, it looks like land continues to be cleared in multiple different sections.

It’s also really interesting to see that a potential pond is being constructed (likely for Piston Peak, based on concept art, but that’s not confirmed). After one body of water has been demolished for the new construction, it’s nice to know that we will still have plenty of water in the new land

While we’re not seeing any buildings or start of buildings right now, it does look like some construction trailers have been added recently, and that likely means we’re one step closer to seeing more construction, rather than demolition.

We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for all the latest construction changes, so stay tuned to AllEars!
