Why You Should AVOID This EPCOT Pavilion Right Now

EPCOT is packed with incredible food, culture, and entertainment, but there’s one pavilion that might leave you overwhelmed and frustrated.

2025 Food and Wine Festival

The 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is finally here and runs from August 28th to November 22nd, 2025, and brings a TON of exciting eats, entertainment, souvenirs, and more to EPCOT. But during this festival, there is one pavilion you might want to avoid.

EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion is one of the most popular stops year-round, but during the Food & Wine Festival, it can become downright overwhelming. Between the festival booths outside and the lure of the iconic pyramid indoors, the crowds tend to bottleneck quickly. Guests who head inside expecting a relaxed stroll through the shops or a quick bite often find themselves stuck in long lines and shoulder-to-shoulder spaces instead.

The real challenge is that everything inside the pyramid, from the beloved La Cava del Tequila to the marketplace stalls and San Angel Inn, is tucked into one shared space. This means you’ll need to go out of your way just to get inside, and once you do, it’s often cramped and difficult to move around. For families with strollers or guests who aren’t comfortable in tight crowds, this can turn into a stressful experience instead of an enjoyable break from the Florida heat.

Mexico Crowds

If your goal is to explore EPCOT at a more relaxed pace during Food & Wine, you may want to save the Mexico Pavilion for another time. Canada and Italy are both excellent alternatives that offer spacious walkways, great festival food options, and a much less claustrophobic atmosphere. These pavilions allow you to take your time, enjoy the scenery, and savor the festival without feeling like you’re fighting the crowd every step of the way.

Mexico

That doesn’t mean Mexico isn’t worth visiting, far from it. But if you’re heading to EPCOT right now, be strategic with your timing. Try stopping by earlier in the day before the festival rush begins, or circle back after the dinner crowds have died down. Otherwise, you may want to avoid this pavilion for the moment and focus your Food & Wine adventure on the many other countries where you can spread out, relax, and fully enjoy the festival magic.

Mexico Pavilion

If you are looking to still enjoy flavors of Mexico without traveling to the pyramid, head to the Mexico booth. The Mexico booth is the one we come back to time and time again, and it never disappoints. The Flan de Cajeta and the Tostada de Carnitas were some of our favorites this year.
