It’s finally time for the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival again!

We love this time of year in EPCOT because we get to eat new menu items and returning favorites, listen to the Eat to the Beat concerts each night, and experience our favorite attractions along the way. Real fans of the festival (and you’re one of those now!) know that one of the best things you can do is the iconic cheese crawl, so let’s take a look at what it’s like this year!
The cheese crawl is officially called Emile’s Fromage Montage, inspired by Remy’s trash-loving brother (told you it was iconic!), but you’ve been warned — Emile does NOT play around when it comes to his cheese crawl!

Here’s how to participate: Pick up a passport as soon as you enter the park. As you make your way around the festival, take notice of the menu items marked with a little cheese icon — these are the items that qualify for the crawl!

Let’s go through the items we tried that went towards our cheese crawl…

First up, we grabbed the Fall Fruit Cheesecake at Milled & Mulled. The dessert features Boursin Fig & Balsamic Cheese with pomegranates and candied pecans. It’s $5.50, and the cheesecake had a balanced sweet and savory taste. It was creamy and tangy at the same time. It does tend to lean more on the tart side with the fig in the pomegranate. A really nice crunch was given to the treat thanks to the candied pecans.

Next, we headed to Brazil for the Pao de Queijo is $5, which is one of our all-time favorites. It’s cheese and bread, what could be wrong? They are still light enough to eat in a few bites.

Over at the Greece booth, we got the Griddled Cheese with pistachios and honey. It is also priced at $5.25. A hot cheese dish in the hot Florida weather can be tough, but it really hit this year. It was very cheesy, and the pistachios gave it a great crunch. The honey added an element of sweetness that was phenomenal. We were surprised the dish didn’t feel oily, which we were happy about.

At the Forest & Field booth, we tried the Pumpkin Mascarpone Ravioli. This is made with brown butter vinaigrette, pecorino cheese, pomegranate seeds, and hazelnut praline. It costs $5.50. This was one of our favorite items last year, and it reigns supreme yet again! The various elements balance really well together, and the flavors are sophisticated. If you’re a pasta fan, this is a MUST.

Over at the Hawaii booth, we tried the Pineapple Cheesecake. This is a passion fruit curd and macadamia nuts for $5.25. This wasn’t quite as fruity as we were hoping – the flavors were pretty muted overall. But it’s fun to look at!

We tried the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese at the Alps booth. Baby potatoes, cornichons, and a baguette accompany this beloved returning dish. You can get it with Alpine Ham is $6.00, but you can also purchase the Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese without ham for $5.50, which still comes with baby potatoes, cornichons, and a baguette.

In Germany, you can grab the Schinkennudeln. The Schinkennudeln has been a favorite of ours for years. It’s a pasta gratin dish with ham, onions, and cheese for $5.25. Note that this item is also part of Emile’s Fromage Montage cheese crawl, so if you’re doing that, it’s a must. It’s like a really good baked macaroni and cheese with a nice crispy layer of cheese on top and some nice crispy ham inside.

In Spain, you can pick up the Basque Cheesecake. For $5.25, it was creamy and smooth with a bright citrus flavor from that orange sauce. We would get this 10 times over, for sure!

Once you have at least five stamps, head to Shimmering Sips Marketplace to grab a free treat! This year, it’s a Key Lime and Vanilla Dole Whip with pie crumbles on top.

This has to be one of our favorite prizes! It is a Key Lime DOLE Whip swirled with Cheesecake, and it is what our dreams are made of. It is very balanced, and we would recommend doing the cheese crawl solely to get this prize. It’s a large portion, and you could share it with others! It is the perfect sweet treat after a long day of eating because it’s light and not overly sweet.
