In case you missed it, DinoLand is closing!
The phased closure has already begun to make way for the new land, Publeo Esperanza! We’re still mourning Dinosaur’s imminent extinction, but we’re excited to finally have a new update on what’s coming to Animal Kingdom!
Pubelo Esperanza is on its way! The newest land in Animal Kingdom will be themed to the Tropical Americas and will feature three new attractions!
Two of the attractions will be themed to Encanto and Indiana Jones, along with a Disney animals carousel. We also know that we can expect a large hacienda for a spot to eat in!
We knew there would be a large quick service in the land, but Disney has confirmed it will also be one of the largest at the Disney World resort! They had mentioned this when the land was initially announced at the 2024 D23; however, they have reiterated that plan online. After years of BlueSky ideas, we love it when Disney reconfirms something they quickly mentioned! Currently, DinoLand features Restaurantosaurus, which is the largest quick-service in Animal Kingdom.
It’s a safe bet to assume the new hacienda will be in the same location as Restaurantosaurus; however, Disney has yet to officially confirm that. The current restaurant serves up burgers, fries, chicken tenders, and more traditional theme park options.
We’re anticipating that the new restaurant will offer new and different options closer to what you might find in the Tropical Americas. This is another thing Disney hasn’t confirmed, so we’re really manifesting here. Maybe we can get some of Julieta Madrigal’s healing arepas!
Disney also recently confirmed the new land will feature a new play area, which we were super excited to hear since we are losing the Boneyard! The Boneyard will officially close on September 1st, 2025.
The land has already closed several locations, including TriceraTop Spin, the Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures. Construction is currently underway for the new land that is expected to open in 2027.
Dinosaur and Restaurantosaurus do not have closing dates at the time of writing. However, Disney has confirmed, “You’ve still got time in 2025 to rustle up some grub at Restaurantosaurus” and that Dinosaur will be open until 2026.
We can’t wait to test out all of the new food, attractions, and more once the land finally opens in 2027. Until then, we’ll be enjoying every second we can in DinoLand, U.S.A., until it officially closes next year. As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Disney news and updates!

Restaurantosaurus is one of our favorite quick service restaurants in Disney World. It’s about the only quick service restaurant in AK that serves burgers and chicken strips. I hope they will keep those items on the menu along with refillable drinks.
