REVIEW: The NEW $6 Snack I MUST EAT Every Time I’m in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney World has so many places to eat, it’s hard to try all the different snacks and drinks around the park — but we sure like to try!

Animal Kingdom

We recently went to Animal Kingdom and headed straight to a popular spot called Flame Tree Barbecue. We just had to try a NEW treat that recently became available here, and we need to tell you about it!

The Flame Tree Barbecue restaurant is a fan-favorite quick-service spot that is one of the best, not just in Animal Kingdom, but arguably across Disney World. They serve amazing barbecue-style food like pulled pork sandwiches, pulled pork mac and cheese, and more. The food there is delicious!

Flame Tree Barbecue

As a quick-service location, it’s a quick and easy spot to get a good-sized lunch, dinner, or snack. You can order at the front counter or use the My Disney Experience app for a mobile order. You’ll find it fairly close to the entrance of the park, past what was “It’s Tough To Be a Bug” — which is also going away soon.

Flame Tree Barbecue

Let’s get to the treat we got! We went to Flame Tree because we just had to try the Key Lime Pie Pop for $6.29. Yes, we went to a barbecue place for a key lime pie treat! The treat was a key lime pie dipped in dark chocolate with graham cracker crumble served on a stick. This is going to be a favorite amongst Disney fans for sure. Our reporter said, and we quote, “the key reason I moved to Florida was for my passion for a key lime pie, and I’m here for it.”

The menu!

This treat was so good, and also so messy. The dark chocolate on the outside was great, it wasn’t too bitter at all. In fact, the dark chocolate was really balanced. You can see the graham crackers on the outside, but on the inside, there’s a whole other layer of graham crackers. It was a welcome surprise that we were not expecting!

Key Lime Pie Pop!

This sweet treat is literally like a slice of pie on a stick! The actual key lime pie custard filling is so smooth and holds up better than we expected. It was so soft and creamy like a thick pudding, we couldn’t get enough of this. IT WAS JUST SO GOOD! The chocolate was tough to maintain in the heat; that is what’s causing the treat to be so messy. So you might want to eat this quickly in the sun, or find a cooler place to enjoy it.

IT WAS SO GOOD!

If we had one complaint about it, we found the graham crackers were a little mushy. That might be because they were pulled out of the freezer. Even though that threw us off, we were more than willing to look past it for everything else. We’re thrilled that this is back in Disney World (we’ve been missing this snack ever since it left the menu at Disney’s Hollywood Studios); we will be indulging in it many more times!

We need more!

Once you get a bite of the dark chocolate, the pie, everything together — picture that scene in Ratatouille when Remy eats the cheese and strawberry together, and he feels like he’s in a new world.

Animal Kingdom

10/10 would recommend this, you won’t even want to share it with anyone, you’re with it, it’s so good. We love trying different eats and treats around Disney World, so make sure to follow us at AllEars for more!
