Today we’re getting a look at some of the new experiences and opportunities coming to Disney Cruise Line‘s newest ship, the Disney Destiny!

We’ve gotten a first look at some of new merchandise that will be available, what artwork will be in some of the staterooms, and so much more, including a sneak peek at what we can expect from the new Hercules show on board!
If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your cruise, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!
We learned that while this version of Hercules will stay true to the original story, it will also feature a fresh, contemporary new setting. The show will actually begin in a museum full of Grecian artifacts, and the design of the show is inspired by John Legend’s Jesus Christ Superstar television special, which is why you’ll see a lot of scaffolding used!

Not only will this show feature hits from the film like “Go the Distance,” “Zero to Hero,” and “I Won’t Say I’m in Love,” but we’ll also get to hear a song called “Shooting Star.” This heartfelt ballad was originally supposed to be in the film but didn’t make the final cut.

Award-winning puppet designer Michael Curry is also working on the Titans and Hydra in puppet form for this show, and based on what we’ve seen so far, they’re looking incredible!

The show’s creative team was also inspired by “light,” because, in their words, we all have a light within. Some of the costumes even light up, and there are tube lights all over the scaffolding!

We also got the chance to hear Corey Bradford, the actor portraying Hercules in this show, belt out “I Can Go The Distance.” Truly, he was incredible, and we can’t wait to see him in the full show!
