We love staying on Disney World property!

There are many perks to staying on property like the new water park access ticket, free transportation, and more! One of our favorite things about staying at a Disney World hotel is access to wonderful dining but you need to know about how unexpected closures can throw off your snack plans.
If you’re anything like us, when it comes to choosing where we stay when we head to Disney World, the dining options make a huge impact. While we might be spending most of our time at the parks, what we’re going to eat before or after is of the highest importance to us.

One of our favorite spots to frequent at resorts is the pool bars. Not just any pool bars though, the ones that you might not even realize are considered the pool bar! Bar Riva at the Riviera Resort stands out in this category of dining and so does Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge.

These stand out as two of our favorite spots in Disney World thanks to the ease of dining and the quality of the food you can find there. One thing you need to know before relying on these spots for lunch or dinner is that they might close unexpectedly!

These pool bars, thanks to their open-air seating, can close because of the weather. We stopped by earlier this month to check out the resorts, but we found that Geyser Point was closed due to cold weather!

This spot is a favorite of ours when stopping by Wilderness Lodge so we were sad to discover it was closed, but we understood! This spot in particular sits right by the lake which keeps this spot nice and breezy. Typically it’s something we welcome in the summer but when Orlando has those random few weeks of winter, it’s probably not the most comfortable dining spot.

Many people, ourselves included, forget that this spot is technically the pool bar so similarly to the pool if it’s too cold to open, so is the dining. While we can’t be sure it will happen every time it gets chilly or a storm comes in, it’s something to keep in mind when planning your dining plans.

It’s a safe bet to assume they’re open most of the year but it doesn’t hurt to have a backup in mind if you know bad weather is on the way during your stay.
