It's About To Be HARDER To Shop at Magic Kingdom

Disney World is in the process of making updates to The Emporium at Magic Kingdom!

The popular shop is getting a facelift, and there is now construction ongoing inside the store. If you’re planning to stop by for some shopping, be on the lookout for a few construction walls.

Recently, the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe was under phased refurbishment. Some parts of the store would close while others remained open. Then other sections would get blocked off. Now, the same thing is beginning over at The Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A.

The Emporium is a long string of shopping sections that run down Main Street, U.S.A. The construction walls, luckily, continue to allow the flow of people from one end of the store to the other without interruption. However, the back section of the last room is completely closed off, so you aren’t able to shop for anything in that area.

The store is still able to be shopped, but certain areas are cut off and behind walls. As the construction continues and work is completed in some areas, you’ll likely see more walls added to different sections for those updates to be completed.

Lots of updates and construction are coming to Magic Kingdom. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Astro Orbiter are both closed for refurbishment, and the new Villains Land and Cars attractions will be constructed over the next couple of years. Construction walls will be part of the decor at Magic Kingdom and the other parks in the coming years.
