Let’s head to Downtown Disney!
There are so many exciting things happening in Disneyland, like the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the new show Walt Disney: A Magic Life is coming soon, and so much more. All of this change is making us hungry, so we stopped by the brand-new Parkside Market!
Downtown Disney is the shopping, entertainment, and dining district right outside of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure in Anaheim. You can find so many amazing treats and eats there, and thanks to Parkside Market, there are now 4 new restaurants to choose from!
Parkside Market is the first food hall to come to Downtown Disney by bringing four different restaurants together under one roof! Inside you’ll find Seoul Sister, Sip & Sonder, GG’s Chicken Shop, and Vista Parkside Market.
There is a bit of something for everyone, so let’s get into what we tried! First up we grabbed the The Flamboyance Frosé for $16 from Vista Parkside Market which serves up cocktails and mocktails.
The drink is made with Chapoutier Belleruche Rosé, and we thought it was really nice! It was super light and refreshing with a slight tartness. We think this would hit really hard on a hot day, but it’s definitely not shareable so grab your own.
If you want the fun flamingo glass, you’ll need to order it at the bar, and sadly no, you don’t get to take the flamingo home with you. There is also a Zero Proof option for $12.
For our next snack, we tried out Sip & Savor! This spot focuses on lattes, fresh treats, frozen drinks, and delicious small bites. We tested out the Cookies and Cream Cinnamon Roll and the Iced Lavender Tea Latte.
The Cookies and Cream Cinnamon Roll was $7, and is super sharable! It was massive and a great value for $7. Cookies and cream was really more of a topping while the cinnamon roll still tastes like a cinnamon roll. It was nice and bready, with good amount of flake.
The cookies and cream was rich and creamier than a normal icing and almost reminded us of a cream cheese texture. We highly recommend, even though we can see this being a bit too bold for some.
The Iced Lavender Tea Latte was $5.75 for 16 ounces, and you can get it hot or iced. It was light and refreshing, with the lavender flavor shining through without being overwhelming.
The floral flavors were subtle and a safe choice if you know you enjoy lavender flavors.
For something a bit more savory, we tested out Seoul Sister, a fast-casual modern eatery serving Korean-style rice bowls.
We grabbed the Signature Bowl with Beef, Egg, and Noodles for $19. It came with bulgogi beef, carrots, kale, egg, sesame oil, and spicy gochu Seoul sauce. This bowl is pretty customizable, and you can replace the noodles with rice or a salad base.
This was so good! The noodles had a citrus flavor and the meat was tender and seasoned beautifully. The sesame oil was light but added the perfect amount of flavor. The meat had a bit of tang, which worked well with the greens and egg.
We aren’t sure if this is quite worth $20, but we really enjoyed it.
To wrap things up we grabbed something from GG’s Chicken Shop, where you can find chicken sandwiches, salads, and classic dinner table sides.
We grabbed the Sweet and Spice Fried Chicken and Waffle Fries to give us a good idea of what this restaurant has to offer.
The sandwich was $18 and came with pickled daikon slaw, soy cucumbers, kewpie mayo, and a brioche bun. This was delicious! The sandwich was crispy yet juicy and packed with a great tangy flavor in every single bite. There was a bit of a kick but nothing overwhelming. The slaw took away some of the flavor from the chicken because it was only okay.
Although it tasted amazing, we still felt it was overpriced at $18. The bread was standard and the cucumbers were a bit much. It was a great quality sandwich but not sure we can support $18.
The waffles fries were up next at $8!
For the fries, you can choose to add GG’s spice rub, which we did! The seasoning gave the fries a nice rustic flair and tons of flavor. The fries were pretty standard outside of the rub but reliably good.
The seasoning add-on is free, so we highly recommend adding it on and pairing it with a sauce for dipping to enhance the flavors. That was it for our grubbing at this new food stop in Downtown Disney!
The dining experience overall was wonderful. The servers were super attentive and helpful, plus they will bring you food from any of the 4 restaurants. There is quite a bit of seating inside and outside.
This spot is tucked away compared to other Downtown Disney dining options, so we are crossing our fingers it won’t get too busy. Overall, we really enjoyed everything we tried and will definitely be back soon.
