Welcome Foolish Mortals to Disneyland’s newest gift shop!
New Orleans Square, along with Bayou Country (previously Critter Country), has seen a ton of changes over the last few months. Part of these changes included expanding the Haunted Mansion’s queue as well as a brand new gift shop named after one of the Mansion’s residents, Madame Leota. Let’s take a look inside!
The gift shop can be found right outside the exit of the Haunted Mansion, which is sandwiched between the attraction and the newly opened Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.Â
This shop was the home of Madame Letoa in her mortal state. This store is full of Haunted Mansion Easter eggs, so let’s take a look around, shall we?
The outside of the shop is adorned with plants, candles, and beautiful colored windows.
Inside this old carriage house turned Madame Leota’s home, you will find a picture of Leota in her corruptible mortal state. Did you know that former Imagineer Leota Toombs’ face is used in the attraction to bring Madame Leota to life? During the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay, Leota’s daughter, Kim Irvine, who is also an Imagineer, is the face of Madame Leota when the Nightmare Before Christmas takes over the mansion.
The shop has the crystal ball that she once used.
According to Disney, they have repurposed Leota’s furniture, such as her desk, cabinets, and chests. These pieces are now used to display merchandise for those who wander into her home.
Since Madame Leota is a fortune teller and psychic, it only makes sense that she can also reach spirits via an Ouija board.
Of course, Madama Leota had to make a living and advertise her business, as shown on this poster.
Some of Leota’s tarot cards are framed on the wall.
If you have ridden the iconic attraction, you may recognize some of these floating instruments from Madame Leota’s scene on the ride.
We love how Imagineers made this trumpet “float.”
This gift shop is now open in New Orleans Square, where you can find Haunted Mansion and Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise.
