Disneyland’s popular, if somewhat controversial, Haunted Mansion Holiday attraction overlay is returning from August 22nd, 2025 through January 7th, 2026.
The overlay will open along with Disneyland’s Halloween Time, and run through both that seasonal event and the resort’s Holiday Season celebrations.
Haunted Mansion Holiday sees characters and storylines from Disney’s cult classic 1993 stop-motion film The Nightmare Before Christmas, including Jack Skellington, Sally, and Oogie Boogie integrated into the park’s iconic Haunted Mansion attraction.
While the overlay is quite popular, especially amongst fans of the classic film, some Disney fans chuff at the amount of time that the overlay is operation, lamenting the absence of the original. When Disney announced the 2025 Haunted Mansion Holiday dates, it seemed that they’d actually cut down on the attraction’s usual run this year, with the initial information indicating that the Haunted Mansion Holiday would be opening on November 17th. However, Disney quickly corrected that typo, confirming the August 22nd opening day.
The opening of the 2025 edition of Haunted Mansion Holiday will mark the end of a busy year of evolution for the original Disneyland version of the ride. The end of 2024 saw the opening of the Mansion’s new expanded queue, themed with new gardens that reflect various well-known characters like Master Gracey, and a new Madame Leota-themed retail location.
