Downtown Disney — Disneyland Resort
Downtown Disney is Disneyland Resort’s shopping and dining district located just outside the gates of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
Visiting Downtown Disney does not require a ticket and the hours typically last from 7AM to 1AM. This district is made of restaurants, stores, and entertainment, and it’s also home to occasional special events.
In 2021, Disney announced that Downtown Disney would be undergoing a multi-year expansion, with plans to remodel and expand the West End. These changes will include more dining and shopping as well as an open lawn for relaxation space. Construction began in January 2022.
As a result of this project, multiple Downtown Disney locations closed permanently, including Sugarboo & Co., AMC Theaters, Earl of Sandwich, and Starbucks West.

Parking
Downtown Disney visitors have a few options for parking, but some of these options will cost you.
Theme Park Parking Lots
Because Downtown Disney is a short walk from the gates of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, you can park at the same parking lots that you would if you were visiting the parks.
- Mickey & Friends Parking Structure (Tram or walk to Downtown Disney)
- Pixar Pals Parking Structure (Tram or walk to Downtown Disney)
- Toy Story Parking Area (Bus or walk to Downtown Disney)
The cost is the same for all three parking lots:
- $30 per car or motorcycle
- $35 per oversized vehicle, motor home, or tractor without trailer (Toy Story Parking Area only)
- $40 per bus or tractor with extended trailer (Toy Story Parking Area only)
Preferred parking is available at Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals Parking Structures for $50 per vehicle or $20 per vehicle to upgrade pre-purchased parking.
Downtown Disney Parking Lot
There’s a fourth option for Downtown Disney visitors at the Simba Parking Lot located off of Disneyland Drive, between West Katella Avenue and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. The first hour to park costs $10, and you can get your ticket validated after that for up to three hours of same-day parking with a $20 minimum purchase and validation from any Downtown Disney location.
If you opt to dine at a table service restaurant, you can get your parking validated for up to an additional five hours of parking. After that, each hour costs $14, charged as $7 every 30 minutes. The maximum daily limit is $66.
The Monorail
Downtown Disney features a Monorail stop that guests can take directly to Tomorrowland in Disneyland Park, but you must have a valid ticket or Annual Pass to board the Monorail.
