2025 is going to be a BIG year of changes for Disney World!

Several new projects were announced in 2024, and much of the construction is kicking off with the new year. We’ll be getting new lands and attractions in Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom…but sadly, that means that some old favorites have to close down first.
With all the changes on the horizon, there’s one souvenir that’s about to become a hot commodity in Disney World…and it’s free! Do you know what that is?

That’s right, we’re talking about park maps. If you’re a fan of Disney history or you’ve got a collection of memorabilia from old Disney World trips, don’t forget to pick up some park maps on your next vacation. Years from now, you’ll be able to look at those maps and see several attractions that will soon be gone.

At Magic Kingdom, Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat will be closing to make way for two new Cars attractions in Frontierland. And of course, the park will be expanding beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in the future to add the new Disney Villains-themed land.

Over at Hollywood Studios, we know that Muppets Courtyard is closing down to be replaced with a new Monsters, Inc. land in the near future. That means we’ll be losing Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo! On top of that, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is set to close in its current Aerosmith iteration, and it’ll be replaced with a Muppet-themed version (because we can’t lose the Muppets from Hollywood Studios entirely!).

At Animal Kingdom, It’s Tough to Be a Bug is getting replaced with a Zootopia show in the Tree of Life Theater in 2025. In addition, DinoLand, U.S.A. will be closing in stages to be replaced with a Tropical Americas land — complete with Indiana Jones and Encanto attractions.

With all these updates on the horizon, we can guarantee that those paper park maps are going to look VERY different by the end of 2025! If you want to remember things as they currently are, make sure to pick up some maps on your next trip and add them to the scrapbook.

Of course, we’ll continue to keep you updated with any progress on the various construction projects in Disney World. Stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
