3 Things We’re Most Excited for at Disney World in 2025

Can you believe it is almost 2025? Where did 2024 go? January is almost here, which means we have an entire new year to look forward to!

Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom

2025 will be bringing a lot of change to Disney World. We expect to see quite a few construction walls go up across the resort, but there are also some things we are REALLY excited about!

The Disney parks are constantly changing. The fact that they are always changing helps make them even more special. There are constantly new things to experience, and there are three things that we can’t wait to experience in 2025 at Disney World.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Magic Kingdom Nighttime Parade

In the summer of 2025, Magic Kingdom will be debuting a brand-new nighttime parade called Disney Starlight. This new nighttime parade will be brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio. We will see some of our favorite characters from movies such as Encanto, Frozen, and Peter Pan. A Moana float will also make its way through the parade route!

We can’t wait for there to be a nighttime parade once again in Magic Kingdom! Disney Starlight follows in the footsteps of SpectroMagic and the Main Street Electrical Parade, so we have high hopes for what this parade will bring.

New Lounges

We also can’t wait to check out the two new lounges that will be coming to Disney World in 2025. There will be a Spaceship Earth Lounge opening in EPCOT in the late spring of 2025. It is inspired by the “stories, shapes, and enduring legacy of this timeless icon.” The lounge will honor the intertwined history of Spaceship and EPCOT and celebrate the legacy of Spaceship Earth. Inside, you can enjoy culinary creations and see breathtaking views of EPCOT.

As well, there will also be a Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge opening in Magic Kingdom in 2025. The lounge will be in Adventureland and “extend the story of Pirates of the Caribbean.” We have spotted plenty of pirate-y decor in the concept art for this lounge, and we can’t wait to see inside the lounge and what menu options are available!

New Shows

There will also be THREE new shows debuting next year! The first show is anticipated to open in the summer of 2025 in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Villains: Unfairly Ever After will be coming to Disney’s Sunset Showcase, replacing Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. The new stage show will feature villains such as Captain Hook, Maleficent, and Cruella de Vil. Guests will be taken to “the mysterious, reflective realm of the Magic Mirror.” The villains have been teased to break through the glass as they take the stage.

We will also be able to sing along with Ariel once again in Disney’s Hollywood Studios when “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” debuts in the summer of 2025. This show will be replacing the “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” stage show in Animation Courtyard.

As well, a brand-new show will be debuting in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the winter of 2025. Zootopia: Better Zoogether! will replace the It’s Tough to Be a Bug show in the Tree of Life Theater. The show will take us on an adventure through the different biomes seen in the film.

There is a lot to look forward to at Disney World in 2025! In addition to all of these things, we are also expecting a lot of construction to begin for various expansions and rethemes. Construction is expected to begin on the new Tropical Americas-themed land in Animal Kingdom, Pueblo Esperanza. Also, we are anticipating construction to begin on the new Cars attractions coming to Magic Kingdom. We can’t wait to see what 2025 holds for Disney World!

  1. Construction for CarsLand is NOT good news. I certainly don’t mind change, but loss is another story. Removing the original, iconic Rivers of America takes away the entire character of Frontierland and its gentle pleasures. Please, Disney, not everything needs to be an E-ticket ride. Put CarsLand someplace else more appropriate.
